Players group taking legal action against World Rugby over brain injuries

Gotta feel for these guys. Hayman looks absolutely fucked up.

I have three boys and won't have them playing league or soccer because of the head knocks. Heading a soccer ball has the same effect on your brain as a punch or head clash. Instead, they all do bjj and roll around like monkeys trying to choke each other out.

Both my kids play Australian Rules over here, and they know the Dad Rules: one head knock, just one, you find another sport.

Thread seemed appropriate to bump:

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...e-billy-guyton

Quote:
The first confirmed diagnosis of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in a fully professional rugby union player has been made in New Zealand. Billy Guyton, who represented the Māori All Blacks, played scrum-half in Super Rugby for the Blues and had stints with the Hurricanes and Crusaders, died in May at the age of 33.

Guyton’s brain was donated to the brain bank at the University of Auckland. On Monday, his family received a summary of the results, the first item of which details “changes consistent with chronic traumatic encephalopathy”.
