facepalm A Request

Still enjoying True Blood, Unfortunately Top Gear still on a downhill spiral, happily surprised by the Misfits when it came out last year. Watched most of last series of Breaking Bad on fast forward until last three episodes and will now have to will give it another go next season.

What I'm here for however is my partner likes the odd trashy reality TV show for a laugh. From The Bachelor to Flavor of Love or Rock of Love etc. Basically where women compete for something/someone and bitch about each other constantly. Then she saw an episode of the Cathouse series (Reality TV shot in The Bunny Ranch brothel in Nevada) on holiday in Hawaii and has now watched all of that and wants more.

So the question is do you know of any similar series in this vein? A bit more tits and ass than your average reality trash but OK for late night TV rather than full on porn.

Uhh...has she tried Jersey Shore?

Quite enjoyed it, they are all whores and sluts (including the guys) but I did develop a bit of a soft spot for them after a while

Not a new show but I'm working my way though the complete X-Files series (brought the box set from Amazon.uk a while ago), up to season 5 and fucken loving it.
Gill Anderson is a bloody good actress and David D is just fucken cool (his coolness has increased since Hank Moody ).
I only saw the first 3 seasons when it was on TV, but after that I was only watching it intermittently so missed out heaps of the Mythology stuff.
So its bloody good to watch the whole thing right through and get the gist of it all.

Oh man that's a show I'd love to watch again. I watched from about episode 2 when it was on TV (and I was in ..form 2? Maybe 3? Hmm.) Remember when it started I used to have to tape it because it ended later than I could stay up to watch it lols. The first movie was AMAZING (blowing up buildings and a UFO in the snow HOLY CRAP). Not sure why I stopped watching - mostly just drifted away (and towards Outer Limits instead). I believe I never even watched about the last 3 seasons. It'd be fun to rewatch now that I'm old enough to actually get it all...

I used to wear an x-files cap! For like 3 years!! (rockin' it nerd-school).

I liked the José Chung ones. Where the guy thought Mulder was a mandroid, and Scully was a chick MIB because her lipstick and hair were too red.

Which one had Davids wife in it as a leader of a Californian Vampire cult?

Oh man Millennium. Didn't that crash and burn? I recall it got canned and they had to wrap it up with an ep crossing back to the X-Files.

add Family to that list and you've a. X-Files trilogy of creepiness and awesome.

Bought the first season of SG - Atlantis from JB for $30(ish). Awesome never watched the show before. Will have to pick up the rest now. Never really got into SG1 but have to go back and check em out now too.

The Box channel awhile back did the whole series of X-files twice. Was pretty handy for a re-cap. I think I stopped around series 7 back in the day. So was interesting to see how Patrick went as Doggett. Was a good watch again.

Loved that show - had so much potential in it. Speaking of cross overs I was watching the second season of Fringe on TV and when the fringe unit was being interrogated by a senate committee they actually said, "neither the fringe unit, nor the previous "x" designation have actually shown results....". Had a good laugh at that!

Their fate was sealed when the pilot (screened on 4/3/2001) showed some crazy plot point about an airliner being steered into the World Trade Center by a rogue shadow government. 'sif that would ever happen.

Not that it's in the right thread, but relevant to the discussion: boy did that second X-Files movie suck hard. Such a let down. After watching it (being the first X-thing I'd watched for aaaaages) I was all "well that was ok". But then I thought for a while, and remembered the last movie, and realised the second movie was balls. Which is kinda sad, because it probably put the brakes on any more movies they might have done.

Walked through the middle of a Fringe set last night, noticed the Boston Bomb Squad truck parked so had a looksie and they were filming inside a bank in downtown Vancouver. Pretty cool. Annnnnnd it turns out that peter/walter bishops "house" is actually in a street 4 blocks from my place. Drove past today and they have "no parking - film crew only" signs out for filming tomorrow.

Sofa King jealous tbh. Though not enough to stab you to death, since you didn't actually see the actors. Or did you....?

Damn. I'd got it in my head that the "film everything in Canada aye!" from the 90's had kind of faded off as the California fought back to get people filming there again. I guess not!

Haha yeah. You can check the BC Film Commission website for a list of whats currently being made in BC. But they film EVERYWHERE. Toronto is huge too.

When I mean everywhere, I mean it. My gfs tiny little shit hole town about 5 hours outta van in the middle of nowhere was host to a few feature films, including Shooter with marky mark.
