Just watched a couple of eps of The Witcher. Found the pacing to be extremely slow, with some really clunky dialogue in the mix. Plot largely consists consists of boilerplate fantasy elements. Not likely to continue with it.
Pity, because I was kind of looking forward to it.

The Casketeers

Hadn't seen or heard anything about this until yesterday, just finished the first season (only 6 episodes in each season). I originally thought it was a mockumentary, but it turned out to be more of a "look behind the scenes of" show. Surprisingly moreish given the subject; humour and some real teal jerker moments in almost every episode. The business owner comes across camp, aloof, and a bit annoying ... until you see the way he handles and cares for the dead, and their whanau.

Really liked this show (I'm a sentimental bugger though). Great to see more NZ content making it onto the international stage

Don't F**k with cats on the Netflix. Keyboard vigilantes see the impending signs of a bad thing about to happen, but no-one listens...

Only 3 episodes, but not a bad doco.

Really enjoyed season one of both The Witcher, and The Mandalorian.

They weren't perfect TV, but I got into both of them, and I'm eagerly awaiting season two.

I'm with you Cyberbob.

I did think that Witcher song was lame, but now I've got it stuck in my head. *sigh*

PSA: Do not watch The I-Land on Netflix.

It is truely awful.
Bad acting
Bad characters
Bad story telling
Bad rehash of other ideas.
Bad pacing.

The only good thing about it is that it was only 7 episodes long. Which is the only reason I finished it after the first episode.

Another excellent season of The Expanse. Needed more Frankie.

First episode of Picard was enjoyable, looking forward to his adventures.

Enjoyed season 3 of Sabrina. It's filling a Buffy shaped hole in my life.

And as a big fan of alternative history, I can't believe I've missed The Man In the High Castle. I'll have to give it a go.

I missed Buffy so much, I recently started re-watching the series yet again

Also started Locke and Key, which I’m sure will be binge watched by the end of the week.

Obtained first season of 'Britannia' over the weekend, on the last of 9 episodes now and really enjoying it. Quite the cast line-up (including Emperor Palpatine himself), but wasn't expecting to discover that this character is played by the same actor as this guy

Really enjoying it so far; slight mystical (druidic) spin on the later invasion of Britannia by the Romans.

Didn't get through the first episode. It's all tropes and idiot plot.

First two episodes of HBO's The Outsider, an adaptation of a Stephen King novel, were incredible. Shame the next 8 episodes were a drag. Could have been a tight 6 ep mini series.

Good to know. I have just got the audio book to listen to over the next couple of weeks, and then was going to give this a go.

I read the book a little while back and was pretty happy to see a series made. Yeah, I agree that it did drag a little in some episodes, but I personally thought it picked up well again and overall was a decent watch. I’ve recently finished his latest book “The Institute” and am really hoping they’ll give that go as a series too.

I agree it was a decent watch, I definitely enjoyed it. I felt the bar was set too high from the first few episodes and they just couldn't maintain that consistency.

I recently finished the Institute as well.
Although I dont think all of Steven Kings books should be made into Films/TV.

I don't think a lot of his work can translate well, and a lot of the really good things in his books don't get shown.

I was admiring it too, however I find the content far more raw and painful than Stranger Things, haha. Some brilliant writing and acting.

Yeah I read the book a while back and was interested to see news of a series. I love Ben Mendelssohn, dumb Aussie speech impediment and all, so I've got it on the to-watch list.
