yawn.

Jane doesn't deserve a place on current form. Neither does Conrad Smith.
Dagg ahead of Jane, Fruean ahead of Conrad Smith. |

It's a bit harsh innit?
The Crusaders can make anyone on the wing shine with the direction that Carter gives and the muscle up front that they have. |

Today is the big day!!
I think the biggest casualties from today's announcement will be Guildford and Kahui. I really can't see Jane, Siti, Gear, Toeava and Dagg missing out.

Guildford has been stand-out for me. I'd say he deserves to be in there ahead of Toeava. Yeah I know Toeava can play fullback as well, but what are the chances of both Dagg and Mils being injured?
Jane has redeemed himself in a big way in my books. |

And Gear will be left out also.

Stoked Dagg and Toeava made it! Gutted for Siti and Gear. And for the 2nd world cup in a row we're going to carry a lock with very little to no recent game time under their belt and an injury cloud Not sure if Boric was the right choice. Kind of amazing the Jane slipped again of Gear who was the incumbent and Jane was only there as injury cover.

Jane is fullback cover as well as being hard to beat under the high ball. I assumed the reason he was injury cover was that his spot was secured, whereas the guys on the field had something to play for.

Sivivatu has played well recently, but I'm always suspicious of him. Much like his mate Rococoko, he'll play well enough to get selected and once he has been selected he says "sweet, that's me! I'm in!" and his form drops.

Gutted that Gear had to be left out as well, but I'm sure he'll be the first choice if Zac (knock wood) gets injured.

How does player substitution work during RWC? For example, if both Carter and Slade have their legs fall off, are the ABs limited to replacing them with somebody from within the squad or can they call up a replacement from outside the squad?

I believe they get 'sent home' and a replacement player gets flown in.

What do you mean when Guildford gets injured? he never gets injured. The first players to get injured will be and in this order, Flynn - broken arm, followed by Kahui - torn hammy/broken shoulder

Awesome. Dagg over Mils Nonu outside Williams. Kahui right wing - Guildford not in squad. I like.

I still don't get not having a specialised wing in the game..... looking for too much versatility IMHO.
Had a nightmare of Tonga winning the game 31-28 yesterday... better not be a premonition! |
