IMDB is speculation. It's never a confirmed cast/crew at this stage.

Problem here is that it's just made multiple TV series as well as the anime all required watching to understand the MCU's next movie.

You're not going to understand it without having watched all of Loki, all of Wandavision, and all of What-If.

Disney loves the thought of leaning on What If because they get to leverage all the Phase-1-2-3 connections we have with the characters, but without having to pay those pesky actors. An animated Tony Stark that looks vaguely like but obviously isn't Robert Downey Jr, voiced by a voice actor working by the hour? Cheap.

Not sure why that is a problem though.
That's the same as someone having to watch Spiderman to understand whats going on in Dr Strange.
Or watching the original spidermen movies to understand SM:NWH
Or watching all the movies in order to make sense.

All they have done is added a TV element to it.

To be fair, as it's a Raimi film, with Zombies, I'm secretly hanging out for a cameo by Mr Campbell...

This is an interesting comment from Stewart
"You know, people have been imitating my voice ever since I came on the stage 60 years ago," Stewart said of the trailer. "So, I can't be held responsible for that."

So what's the first thing that all the actors are told to do about marvel movies - lie and say you are you not part of it.

But MCU released a trailer, with (apparently) a quote from him. And MCU know exactly what they are doing with their trailers. Even some of the "leaked trailers/footage" I would go to say that's planned.
So why then lie about being in it? Is because they don't want more questions being asked of his role?

*Although Stewart may not technically be lying, but deflecting.

Maybe it is actually James McAvoy, who they have and he is mimicing the voice.

Im doubling down on that its not Stewart and that there is a twist.
With all the "Im not in the movie" that has gone on before, I'm sure Stewart is the type of person that would be happy to go along with the "Im in the movie" when hes not.

Young Adam appeared to be on point with his Reynolds like quips - but I guess that's why it's called acting. Ripped off the Battle of Endor speeder bike chase, but that's Ok. Deadpool went all SkyLord chasing Gamora.

I think there were clear ripoffs of movies throughout.
I agree with the kids acting. He did feel like a mini version of Reynolds.

I felt like the third act was the weakest part of the movie.

Worth watching? Or is it just typecast Ryan Reynolds at this point.

I say yeah.

I thought Reynolds was pretty subdued in this one. Yeah he was still playing Ryan Reynolds, but he actually acted at points. The scenes were he was struggling with his relationships with his parents as an adult had some emotion to them.

The movie was a bunch of timetravel movie tropes strung together with some bad CG, but I watched it on a Saturday night with a string of beers in hand and felt like I got my money's worth. A weirdly highpowered cast for a "new on Netflix" movie though.

The most implausible bit was that the kid was allowed to wear a $15,000 Omega Speedmaster to school every day.

Saw two movies this weekend, Turning Red, and Spider-man No Way Home.

First of all, Disney are knocking it out of the park with Encanto and now Turning Red. It was great fun, really rich culturally, and the only content that went over my 7yo boy's head was regarding why it was funny that a thirteen year old girl was hiding in the bathroom stressed out, yelling to her mum about turning into a red monster. My 11yo got it.

No Way Home was pretty damn epic. Again I watched it with my boys and while they're well clued up on the MCU, they had no idea what relevance the wider legacy villain and hero cast had, and I wasn't going to put them through five or six mediocre superhero movies as compulsory prior viewing. The nostalgia factor was obviously lost on them, but overall hugely enjoyable for everyone. Way more actual acting than I was expecting.

Man, I thought Encanto was really weak. The themes were interesting but the story just went nowhere. It seems like everyone's going "yaaaay nonwhite faces and a song in a non-English language" while ignoring the fact that the story was just not... good.

I liked the device of a character living in the hidden spaces behind the "real house" and drawing clues on the walls. A rat man, you could say. Huge success.

I watched After Yang because of Colin Farrell and AI somethingsomething.

It's a really nice movie.

It's really slow and not much happens. Lots of moments of reflection. Great cast.

I found the fighting and exploding bad guys really jarring and out of place for an ET/flight of the navigator type movie. Really quite violent.

Imagine if Eliot had busted out a fucking sword and fucked up the guys in lab suits that took ET in ET?

A later version of ET was edited so that the cops had walkie-talkies not guns.

^^^ watched as a result of Wazza's post above. I think there was a better movie in there somewhere that just didn't hit the mark. Some great moments but things just felt a bit.... disjointed.

I've watched a few movies latey.
Dune - it was spectacular production value - and boring :/ - too slow.

I enjoyed the new Ghostbusters - but the best one I've watched of late is Finch

I thought Finch was good fun. The voice of Jeff was hilarious.

My head canon is that Jeff makes a mission back for the fallen little robot once Goodyear is safe with people.

Totally; but it wasn't just fun. It was highly emotional. Drew me right in.
Something sadly missing in most of todays movies.

Nah man, it sounds fine

Quote:
Now that Morbius has been released, our worst fears have been realized. Sony has distributed a film that is so breathtakingly terrible, and so excruciating to watch, that it could be mistaken for one of the 10 plagues of Egypt. I truly believe that Morbius’s opening weekend is the three days of darkness foretold in the Bible. Our only recourse is to drive a proverbial stake through the heart of this “Marvel legend” and ensure that a sequel never sees the light of day.

I really enjoyed The Batman. Cyberpunk, heavy on the noir.

I could not believe that was Colin Farrell as Penguin. The fact he's awesome gives it away.

Pattinson is of course the best.

It's so good. It fits the brooding noir detective motif to a tee.

I really liked the super-less element of the movie. Wayne is still obviously hyper-competent, but the fact he's overcompensating is much more on the surface.
