I just can't figure out what Samsung is up to.
7 months ago released a wallhuggers advert poking fun at Apple and saying how it's benefits in having user replaceable batteries. Now it's latest model doesn't have a removable battery. Same as the dust & waterproof features. No expandable memory either, but hey at least it's "premium" feel. HTC M9 looks like a minor incremental improvement on the M8

Pebble V2: The Pebbling.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...no-compromises Already at $11.8M USD, still 25 days to go. Unlike the first Pebble watch, this one has speaker for voice commands, and a colour e-ink screen, still keeps 7-day battery life etc. I am getting one (probably black this time as I got the red Pebble last time) but if anyone wants to save $10 USD each I'd happily go in with a bulk-buy.

Pebble is gay as fuck anyway. Don't know why you'd buy another one.

Siri works a lot better for me than it used to, but the thing I want to work most ("siri read me the latest text message") NEVER fucking works.

"What's the score in the football" worked for the Superbowl, but "What's the score in the cricket" doesn't. Disappointed.
I use it a fair bit. Hands free too. "Hey siri, tell my wife im on my way".

I see Samsung is taking innovation to the next level with the Galaxy S6.
Glass front and back! No removable battery! No SD card slot! No more waterproofing! Contactless payments via Samsung Pay! Revolutionary. |

(styling wise) And the really major thing touted by Android folks when the iP4 came out was along the lines of: Glass front and back will make it too fragle! No removable battery is a horrific idea! No SD card slot will doom the phone to failure! Also "No more waterproofing!" is going backwards on features, and "Samsung Pay" contactless is just copying Apple rather than doing what Android was good at - a general NFC system, so capable of compatibility with the likes of SmartPay (mastercard) and PayWave (visa). Frankly if I was buying an Android at the moment, I wouldn't go near Samsung. Sony Xperia Z4 (well the compact one) would be my choice. It's a bloody nice fondleslab.

Do you mean the Z4 or the Z3?
I think the Z4 is only out in concept so far. The Z3 hasn't got anything on say, the Note 4. |

EDIT TIME ONLY 5 MIN? RAAAAGE!
Oh right. You're correct - the Z4 is due for release in Q2. Z4 Compact (which is the one I was actually meaning, even if I wasn't particularly clear on that) is what my sister has. Possibly a pre-public-release version (her fiancee does tech reviews for a living)

I have a Z3, just got it back from repair after some magical hairline crack appeared on the back of it. It lives in my pocket, on the bed or on the desk - both myself and Spark dude concluded possible heat could cause it, there is actually a massive spreadsheet documenting all the surprise hairline fractures on the front and back over at XDA because of how prominent it is. Sony of course said warranty voided, Spark fought back on my behalf and got it repaired for free. Other problems with it at the time were:
Sony tried to fight tooth and nail on all of these issues. It was only because Spark believed me and basically fought for me that they budged. I got it back after just over two weeks of Sony humming and harring with it, and now it's like brand new. It is an amazing phone but it's let down substantially by the fragile glass (Sony's own version of tempered glass apparently) and the absolutely abysmal support. Battery life is intense, camera is utterly shocking, UI is actually really nice, screen is beautiful. If Sony weren't such dicks about support and the camera issues it would definitely be the best phone on the market, but as it stands I think that goes to the Note 4, iPhone 6S or M8 right now. |

how long has ios had the ability to attach things from within an email? found myself emailing a photo in apple-reverse, composing an email instead of sending from photos ... gave it a go and long held on the email body and insert photo or video came up.

hmmm so not only have they removed the sd card, taken away the ability to remove the battery, albeit marketing points they said differentiated samsung from apple, they have now made the battery life WORSE in their latest model thus making it more likely that someone would want to swap the battery out, and now they cant.
I suppose theyll argue the S6 has built in wireless charging so you should be charging it every time you put it down anyway now right?

moving to non-returnable batteries just brings in more money for the little niche shops that replace them for a fee ... Who also happen to sell those phones.
