I hang out on some guitar forums, the audience is heavily weighted towards Murricans. There was a discussion of the government shutdown and some retarded retarded shit being thrown around - like, demonstrating almost total ignorance of the way the US government works - and I stupidly stuck my head in to say "hey, that's not how the system works, this is how it works". The comments in response were along the lines of "OBAMA IS THE ANTICHRIST ARE YOU SAVED", "FUCKING LIBERAL TRAITOR", "IF YOU LOVE SOCIALISM SO MUCH WHY DON'T YOU GO BACK TO SATAN, I MEAN STALIN".

I'm not making it up, that's what the comments were like. In response to me saying "well article foo of the US Constitution means Obama has no authority to do blahblah as that power is reserved for Congress, which means the House Majority Leader has to blahblah".

And that's just the most recent example. More and more I've noticed it EVERYWHERE I interact with Americans who have come through the US education-system and media meatgrinder. They're just fucking morons.

I got de-friended on Facebook (yeah yeah...) by a friend of about 10 years, because I got into argument with her American husband that started because he posted a photo of Obama getting off an aeroplane with the book "Beyond America" in his pocket (or some such, I can't actually recall what it was called - it's a book about the world as it will be going forward, with the US not being the only superpower). During this discussion/argument with him, I found out that we should be sending tributes to the US in thanks, because it is them, and only them, that are keeping us safe. From the Russians. He was deadly seriously that they were the number one risk to the world and only through pro-active American military might were they being held in check.

They know they're not. The RIAA were asked by the judge how much they thought ISOHunt actually had, they figured 3-4 $M (iirc). The intention was to have such a hilariously high dollar amount attached so they could a) claim they've won a "hundred million dollar settlement", since that plays out on moron-news as "they cost us hundreds of millions of dollars" and b) to set a precedent (not a legal one, since they settled) that they can use to scare other torrent sites with.

thing that tripped me up first time (recently) was slowing down for roadworks, make sure your eyes are constantly searching all mirrors, they have been pretty tough about that I've heard. like rear view every 6 or 12s, I forget which.
