Would Fisher & Paykel honour a warrenty if I don't have proof of purchase?

Bought a fridge/freezer second hand, and its only a few years old - but it's not very cold. I have set the temp thingy to as low as possible, yet the freezer only gets to -9.
Im suspecting the compressor is bung.. but yea think F&P will fix it for me?
