I realised that an average porn viewer has no inclination of video's age. Get this; mainstream porn took off around early 2000s when digital video became a common place. This means that the porn 'look' from 2001 is identical to today's porn, especially when viewed under typical internet "...tube" conditions. Lack of clarity and abundance of pixelation acts as as a concealment device for porn's true age. The internet essentially becomes a vehicle for democratization of porn.

We have no way of placing a specific event in porn within the age of origin context, other than maybe in which time-specific hairstyle cum lands in, or perhaps from viewing a decade specific acting reference. Actors are naked, settings are in lush natural vistas or extravagant bedrooms which only serve as a backdrop to hardcore fucking, so essentially, our point of reference is missing from porn that was made within last ten years.

This trend will continue on, and who knows, maybe one day in near-distant future you will unwittingly wank to somebody's grandmother thinking it's porn from the year 2018. Consequences could be embarrassing to say the least.

It's easy to tell pre 2000 pr0n, but post 2000 hasn't changed much.

I think it's more the timeframe than anything. We can't tell because it's too soon.

It's why That 70's Show was funny, and That 80's Show wasn't. Too soon.

In 2020, you'll be able to tell the difference between 2000 porn and 2010 porn.

Funny how I've always said that only losers pay for porn... but here I am, investing in faster broadband with an unlimited data cap just for such occasions.

Irony ++

That's not true at all. People rate their own job satisfaction, it's just that the nerds are happier in their jobs and get paid well for doing them.

i'll put it this way, i'd be ANY of the jobs in the "worst" list before i even want to want to be any in the "best" list

and besides, i havent met many happy nerds. I've seen nerds have little geekgasms, but i dont really get a sense of their life happiness.

I don't get those lists. The people I've personally met and know who have the jobs in the worst list like butcher, mail carrier etc. don't seem to hate their jobs and generally complain faaaaaar less than the people in white collar professions (and I know loads of depressed IT nerds). Maybe they're all bottling it up inside.

What the fuck is wrong with being a sailor? And where is "adult star" on the list? I'm sure banging all you like is multitudes better than being a bank merchant, or an insurance broker. Plus you can star as an actuary, and fuck your secretary without any consequences.

Prince Willy's hair is clearing thinning... I wonder why he doesn't do something about it? I thought hair loss treatment was pretty much ubiquitous now.

Because he's going to be King of England and doesn't give a shit?

Given that family's fucked-up inbred genes, thinning hair is practically winning the lottery.

It is a bit crazy that pretty much any male celeb between 40 and 60 has extremely thick hair for their age (surely should be like, 1 in 10 men by that age or something?). But good on him for not giving a shit, of course he doesn't make a living based on his appearance though. His money will stay the same either way so, so will the attractiveness of his partners.

There's nothing wrong with being a sailor. However it doesn't score highly across many dimensions that people seek in a job though. For example:
1. Working days typically twice as long as most people work.
2. Commonly only 1 day off per week.
3. Commonly very low pay (much lower than minimum hourly wage in NZ).
4. Almost no job security.
5. Not seeing your family for months at a time.
6. Inability to go-out most of the time.

And lots of other similar things that most people would consider negatives.

Some of the worst jobs on the list have all this plus a pretty good chance that you'll end up dead or as good-as-dead e.g. lumberjack.

I did notice that Web Developer has dropped significantly - it was number 1 not all that long ago.

Ok, now I've read the rest of your posts. This is the same thing we see from GT year in and year out; it makes him feel good. That's pretty much all this commotion means. I know dozens of people outside that list that are perfectly happy with what they're doing; I know people inside that list, on both sides; unhappy and happy. It's really up to the individual and I feel everyone on here knows this.

Such a lol post.

That does make sense. I'm assuming it's a similar metric for other 19 occupations from the 'worst list'.

I think you've blinded yourself with a conception of what that list is. It's not a list of who is happy or sad.

The reason I posted the list if that many of the people who come here (who I guess are heavily weighted to IT roles) are in pretty good jobs according to that list.

And for me by training / qualification I do have the ability to do several of those jobs but I currently do none of them.

THANK YOU NEW ZEALAND HERALD.

Today, shortly before 11am I saw a police escort from behind the international terminal at the Auckland Airport guide half a dozen vehicles away from the area. I wondered what it was and thought "perhaps Hillary did come after all?", I just read in the Herald what I actually saw~

I was 10 feet away from the guy, even if he was in a bulletproof/bombproof/aidsproof/SARSproof vehicle.

edit: [sarcasm] THIS MIGHT HELP http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=10620715 [/sarcasm]

I just knew GT was going to link that list of jobs, given what came in at number one... I was kinda surprised he hadn't earlier, but that's explained now.

Congrats on winning this year GT :P

Well a simple enough prediction given I've posted the same list every time it has come out, with a fair few repetitions now. Actually "prediction" is too kind a word for me to choose isn't it?

Now too more serious matters; with regret I've got to go to work today - the end of my holiday is neigh.
