I was at a certain council before the supercity and they employed 'welfare officers'. I'm not really sure what they did tbh, all i saw them do was drop emo leaflets and pens on the desks of users.

The State Sector Act requires that government agencies recognise the employment aspirations of everyone who isn't a physically-able Euro male, but to put "we want a Maari" in an advertisement is also probably a breach of the HRA.

I'm not sure about that, but I'm no legal expert either... my understanding is that certain kinds of services are required, either by government policy, the law or both, to ensure services specifically cater for Maori. This is to meet Treaty obligations. I suspect the HRA reflects this.

I might be wrong, but as that advertisement highlights, it happens.

An attractive young white news reporter's been missing in Melbourne since the weekend, so naturally it's had 24/7 coverage on most channels this week.

Unfortunately this morning they've found a body and there's been an arrest with a man charged with rape and murder.

So far, Victoria police have had to tweet to say that particular people in the phonebook are not the accused, so please stop leaving death threats on their voicemail, etc.

And there's already a Facebook page calling for the hanging of the accused.

Fastest way to get a mistrial due to public bias, well done.
