I pretty sure I made that cage - does it have a 'Pets Pit Stop' sticker on it? (in my former job as a - amongst other things - welder) |

Yeah, we've got 4 Pet Pit Stop crates at the moment, and one of the grooming arms

I will post some more about Chanel when I get a chance. At the moment I am so sad I just want to curl up in the corner and cry my heart out. She really was my little girl and I love her like I've never loved any other pet, and I can't imagine not being without her. At the same time, for other reasons that do not belong in this thread, I am joyously happy.
Thanks to those of you who have posted in sympathy. I feel like this thread has been a kind of diary of her brief life, and you've all been involved in a way. |

How terrible. I've been following the Chanel story since it was first posted, and just the other day was showing my partner that last photo, and reminding him about the kitten in the beanie. In situations like these, I like to remind myself that despite Chanel's rough start, she did spend most of her time with loving people, and was most likely very happy.

I started making a post explaining a bit about what happened with Chanel, and it started getting quite long, and quite painfully personal. I didn't want to bring down the tone of this often very entertaining thread any more than I already have, so I've made another thread over here for those of you who have followed the story of the kitten in the beanie.

My cat bilbo (i named him when I was 7 you see...) died from kidney failure tonight. He was 16 years old.
Cat geek: Thirsty: Catquisition: And where he slept when I was at the computer: He was put to sleep tonight because he could no longer breathe without oxygen. Sorry to add another sad post to the thread, but he had a long happy innings so I guess thats the most one can ask for. He was the best cat ever. |

Sixteen is a fine innings, Dan. From one heartbroken cat parent to another, he looks like quite a character and you must miss him terribly.

Beatiful cat Dan, sad to hear that he's passed on, but good to hear he too had a enjoyable happy life with loving parents. Love the 'thirsty' shot.

Sorry to hear about your cat Dan
Our Toby is becoming quite the little adventurer and is getting outside more and more - he's still too little to leave at home when we go away for the weekend but that's going to change in a couple of weeks when we go to Hamiltron for the night. He's taking to sleeping on the bed at night between us, although last night he shared Nic's pillow with her. Our other cat, Bella, is slight more standoff-ish and although she likes a cuddle, she prefers to sleep in the lounge in front of the fire. The great part is that now Toby can come and go as he pleases during the day, the two cats are getting on much better (Bella is about 7 1/2, Toby is still only a 1/2 ). |

So many cats! Not that I'm complaining..
Here's Bella - I guess she's "my pet" until the family return to NZ. Getting her accustomed to an outdoor kennel since I can't be home during the day.. |

Here is my cat again. The reason he looks so washed up is because he was hit by a car and left to rot on the road. Luckly he somehow managed to get home at approx 2am and wake me up. Took him to the vets and had to be treated there for over 2 weeks. First they though he lost his vision, then smell and he had internal bleeding. After all the trouble and taking liquid out of his lungs he finally managed to fully recover and took him at least 2 months to lose the fear of ANYTHING (even food :| ). Glad to say, hes now well and happy again (after $2,000 in fees, but you cant put a price on that). And did i mention hes now about 3x the size of what he used to be - fat fat fat - so glad he's still around. Gonna take some new pics as soon as i buy charger for my cam. edit: The day i got him (3 years ago) Last edited by com : 19th July 2005 at 20:01. |
