I haven't really participated in this ritual in any major way since the late 70s, but this year I'm going to the Weta party, and I'm trying to find ideas for costumes. Note that I don't fancy going as a sexy [insert otherwise unsexy character here] or anything uncomfortable.

Any ideas that won't cost the earth?

I was thinking I'd go as an All Black, because comfort and ease, yay. Plus, All Blacks are cool. The only problem is I'm a girl.

Halloween would be a bit extreme with Weta, they'd have some epic costumes.

I went to a Halloween thing with some broski's years ago. We all wore red jumpsuits and painted our face, lips, eyebrows, hands white and wore a white hair net. Was actually kinda cool.

The cheddar would be to go in a black motion capture suit with the wee balls attached. Then the people at Weta could make you any costume you liked. Yes, I am obvious.

I quite like cheap costume ideas. The one I've seen and liked most recently was dressing up as a lego piece. Painted cardboard box around body -> 6 stuck on plastic cups -> same coloured leggings. Quite amusing, cheap as fuck and not all that common (as far as I know).

Step 1 . Wear towel/poncho convert (blue as per above)

Step 2 . Regularly apply "makeup" and try stay in character.

Sorted.

Have also rented "Panda" costume .. which quickly became "Sexual harrasment panda"

wtf has that got to do with Halloween though?

I guess a real giant living piece of lego could be a scary thing to encounter given the right circumstances..

Halloween can be about dressing up in general. It doesn't have to be monstrous. I just think the self-conscious need to be a sexy version of whatever you're dressed as chicks have is dumb, and they're skanky slappers, and I'm not.

No one came! Spent evening boozily consuming gummy candies on couch. Good fun this Halloween thing.
