Tough games overnight. I'd be amazed if anyone picked the winners AND the score margins.
Ahh the Highlander's. Irrespective of their win they're a trashy team and I hope the Sharks give them a thorough hiding next week. The reds were injury plagued and Carrisbrook gives them 10 points or so. The blues exposed them for the chumps they are and so will the sharks. Picking the Brumbies to win wasn't difficult, but the score margin was. A good display of how essential Mortlock is to the team. The score line deserved to be 13+, as the late Stormers intercept was pretty fortunate. Hurricanes/Force lived up to it's bogey status, much to my amusement. Bring back the AB's and get a new backline coach please. Still awaiting my most anticipated game of the week which is Waratahs vs Bulls. Go the bulls! |

18/24 for me so far , Over estimated the reds and underestimated the brumbies
Im sorry to say that I picked the force to beat the hurricanes , I knew the canes would loose after the abizmal way they played last week. |

The bulls pulled through like i said, all that's left is for the sharks to do otherwise - these two teams will violate the home advantage as promised. The cheetah's may have the currie cup edge over the sharks but it won't be enough at a super 14 leve (or at least i hope )l. Blues 13+ was a predicatable outcome, let's not kid ourselves about the lions ability irrespective of their status on the table. Next week is a challenging week, i'd be intrigued to see what teams people man up too prior to the round.
Place your bets early and see how you fare! |

Yes, t'was an easy round to pick a winner, and an awful round to pick the margin.

Week 7
Poo, this weeks picks are gonna be even more difficult than last week:
Chiefs/Lions Force/Reds Crusaders/Bulls Waratahs/Stormers Cheetahs/Brumbies Sharks/Hurricanes bye: highlanders & blues. Personally, i'm gonna do a multi on: Chiefs 13+ Force 12- Brumbies 12- Every other game is too tight to call. Sharks should beat the Hurricanes 13+, especially based on prior form, yet there is always that element of unpredicatability with the canes..... Crusaders/Bulls will be a fine contest. I'm thinking the Crusaders should pull through, especially given the home advantage, but by 12- or 13+? The bulls have proven their ability to score tries in every game, and have won two away games on the trot, so i'm thinking Crusaders 12-. Waratahs/Stormers should be Waratahs 13+, but they have been so woeful as of late i wouldn't feel comfortable bank rolling them. Anything could pan out between these two deadbeats. |

I believe it will be Home team by 13+.
The lions have lost a lot of steam on the travels. If they played the cheifs before they played the blues, they may have won, but not now. Force/Reds - Reds suck. Crusaders/Bulls - Well Duh Warratahs/Stormers - They both suck, Stormers on the road Cheetahs/Brumbies - Cheetah home advantage, Brumbies For points is just about half of the cheetahs (but so is their against). So the Cheetahs can score big. Sharks/Hurricanes - My support for the hurricanes is gone. Sharks are too good at the moment, even though I think the hurricanes have the best away record in SA. They aren't playing good rugby. Note: these may not be my true picks I will probably pick brumbies over cheetahs, and different margins |
15th March 2007, 22:16 | #176 |
|
Crusaders will win 13+
J P Nel out and Matfield starting on the bench, on top of other injuries.
Seems as though the bulls are counting their loses against the crusaders and looking to rest players for the Highlanders and Hurricanes, where they've got a much better chance at victory. |

I nailed the Chiefs win (I love you boys, I never meant all that stuff I've been saying, honestly), the Force win, the Crusaders win... but I've missed everything else so far. I picked the Warahahahahas for a narrow win, the Bumbies for a narrow win, and the Canes for a narrow win.

Easy Week Ahead.
Blues/Crusaders/Chiefs/Sharks should all be a solid 13+.
Lions/Hurricanes & Highlanders/Bulls are gonna be the tough ones to pick. Technically the Hurricanes should win 13+ if we assess the game on paper, but there is always that element of fear when one backs the canes. Will home advantage really mean that much given the Lions have been on the road for so long and that this will be the Hurricanes seond week in SA? Highlanders should pull through. Bulls are still injury depleted and Nel is still out on report. Question is to go 12- or 13+? |

Nah, I think it used to be away team, but this year it is home team.
I hate seeing the % people picked when I am choosing mine, I basically went with status quo (just the points diff for Highlanders game, and sharks game), but I might review them later in the week. See how I feel about the hurricanes with their ABs back. |

Pretty big ask to beat the Sharks at home, especially without Mortlock or Larkham. Highlanders/Bulls is the toughest to pick. Still mulling over 12- or 13+ but given that the Bulls are still injury plagued 13+ seems more probable at the brook. Hurricanes 13+ (please god!). All Blacks all back and (hopefully) rearing to let loose! For people playing virtual, and not betting odds, it's a great week to pick up heaps of points with such huge disparaties between the teams matched up. |
