Labour MP Gaurav Sharma: 'I stand by my claims of ongoing bullying'

But Sharma hit back this evening with the lengthy 2600-word statement posted on his Facebook page, in which the Hamilton West MP provided a timeline of his interactions with Parliamentary Services and the Labour Party Whips.

He claimed he had been gaslit, shouted at, degraded in front of caucus members and told that he was a terrible MP.

"I stand by my claims that I have been subjected to ongoing bullying by the Parliamentary Service and the Labour Whips and none of my concerns have been investigated.

"Neither has there been an investigation into any claims against me as per the last written contact from the Deputy CEO of Parliamentary Service."

A Labour spokesperson reiterated that the party disputed Sharma's allegations.

"As previously stated there have been ongoing issues between Gaurav and some of his staff that his Facebook post provides further confirmation of.

"We believe we've handled this matter appropriately and in accordance with the normal processes when staffing issues are raised."

Sharma suspended from Labour caucus

What Jacinda said last night:

“We will essentially have the opportunity to come together as a team. It does not constitute a full caucus unless everyone is invited so of course, for natural justice, Gaurav Sharma would be a part of that meeting."

What Jacinda didn't say: I am calling a special meeting before the caucus meeting, and everyone except Guarav Sharma will be attending that meeting, and then we will have the caucus meeting, at a time when I know Sharma can not attend

Earlier it was revealed Labour MPs had a secret Zoom meeting last night - without Dr Sharma.

The NZ Herald understands MPs met at 8pm, but Sharma says he was not told of the meeting.

He found out about it after a message - including a photo of Kelvin Davis on the zoom call - was sent to him by mistake.

"Apparently caucus had a full meeting at 8pm yesterday with all members except me and the decision was predetermined," Sharma said in a text message sent to NZME.

The Herald has confirmed last night's meeting from other sources.

I thought I read somewhere recently the number of new homes that have been built was significantly high compared to demand, or is that just some left leaning BS.

'Market well and truly flipped': Supply jumps, house prices fall

43,100 more homes built in the past year (net of demolitions) - all time record. Enough to house about 110,000 people (av household is 2.55). Population up only 12,700 New Zealand's housing deficit shrinking fast. Down to 22,000. Could be gone in early 2023.

The Government Housing Programme completed a record 817 homes in June, (200 a week!), bringing total number of homes built to 13,767. 5,300 currently under construction. There are now 10,000 more state and community housing homes than five years ago. Record build rate.

Pretty much how it had to be done, right? Sell the public a story of magically fixing housing (vs there's no housing crisis to fix), cause we're not interested otherwise. And then do the unflattering, sound-bite unfriendly work behind the scenes to slowly turn things around.

Introduce a capital gains tax on all property over X amount and stamp duty on all properties sold and it'll help a lot more!

The thing I'm warming up to is the hilarity of the merger being costed at $368 million in the budget, when the combined valuations of the two companies, according to their annual reports, is $366 million.

a) we all know that there's no way this is only going to cost $368 million

b) by the time it's completed, the value of the two companies will be a fraction of what it is now
