An Electoral Commission ruling due out today has found the Radio Live show hosted by John Key last September was an election programme and therefore a prohibited broadcast.

Well, there have been two bodies that have released inconsistent decisions. You keep pretending that the decision that went your way is somehow objectively more right. However, being a lawyer I'll be the first to say that Key and National are bound by the Electoral Commission decision unless they successfully overturn it, so all the usual actions consequent upon such a finding by the EC ought to be given their course.

This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it. It’s her future she’s worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare that she’s being forced to live in! These solutions are just common sense in her opinion.

Put me in charge of food stamps. I’d get rid of cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho’s, just money for 50kg bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

AND While you are on Gov’t subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov’t welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

I think these changes are well overdue. I note almost no other party is attacking the changes per se, but arguing against the timing saying there are not jobs for people to go into.
First of all in the last 12 months, 35,000 new jobs were created, so the job market is not static.
But more importantly having those on welfare move into work, actually creates jobs in itself. Moving into work increases the household income, and this leads to higher levels of spending which boosts GDP and jobs.

1. Some extra freedom for say 3 months if the person has been a net tax payer for the preceding sixty months, and;
2. Allowing one vote for each cadastral parcel owned. No land = no vote. People who own more land get more votes, and;
3. Compulsory residential rehab for anyone who continues to vote green or further left.

So, it’s all very well for Key and Bennett to say ‘there’s 10,000 jobs on Trademe’. I should bloody well hope there are because we need that level of churn just to stay in one place. But, if we are really to see a reduction in the number of people jobless and on benefits, up 60,000 and 80,000 respectively since National came to power, then we’ll need a lot more than 10,000 jobs advertised at a given point in time.

Why? You're seeking policies that favour the rich at the expense of everyone that isn't rich if you do that. Owning land already gives you extra votes that non-land-owners do not have - the vote in your local body elections.
