This happened a couple of months ago - someone managed to train Grol The Destroyer into Stormwind to see the King, whereupon he wreaked havoc upon hundreds of players as they tried to kill him. I wandered over from Ironforge to see what all the fuss was about, fired a few arrows at him and THEN realised that only two days beforehand, I'd completed the precursor quest to obtain the Enchanted Azsharite Felbane Sword and still had it in my bag - after a small "OMG OMG" moment and waiting for the cooldown on equipping it, one strike and he was down.

Awesome I don't think anyone else knew about needing the Felbane weaponry to take him down, it's a very cool chain that starts with the Fallen Hero of The Horde in the Swamp of Sorrows (the one that has you picking up Giant poo!).

Just proof that the World of Warcraft designers are completely colour-blind, my latest addition is the lavender breastplate.

but often I end up wearing this

Woah... G fucken G.

How the hell did you manage that?

One thing I've wanted to see is a MASSIVE attack on a main city.
Only been minor ones on Blackrock that I have seen so far.

After much speculation, Blizzard will unveil the new Alliance race in its World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade video to be shown for the first time at E3, which begins on Wednesday.

The video, which runs about two minutes, shows off a huge race about the size of Taurens. They have bluish skin (although as with the other races, this could be customizable) and small mindflayer-like tentacles hanging from their chin. They also have a large, scaled tail and what look like hooves. Having heard nothing official from Blizzard, the race appears to be the Draenei as they appear in their otherworldly realm of Outland. The Draenei (or Lost Ones) that appear in the current game in the Blasted Lands and Swamp of Sorrows are apparently corrupted or fallen versions of the race.
Check, check and check.

While it's officially still all just rumours, the quote detailing the e3 movie detail comes from a reputable site (gamespot), and the description given matches that concept art on the official site pretty near perfectly.

Still not 100% official though.
Apparently they can be Shamans so that casts some doubt on the whole thing.

"The orcs of Outland were not the only ones to suffer the Burning Legion's demonic corruption. The Broken, led by the great Akama, fell prey to the demons' sinister influence, and just like the orcs, they too were changed by the corruption. Though they lost some of their former powers, the Broken still present a clear danger to all of Illidan's enemies throughout Outland. It almost seems like a miracle that the Broken somehow managed to preserve their shamanistic heritage, yet no one can say for sure how many of their traditions are still intact. From the safety of the fortified villages the Broken hold in Outland, they lord over their lesser cousins, the wretched Lost Ones"

That's the part I have a problem with.

The bloodelves are supposed to be de facto allies to Illidans forces.

Shouldn't "Illidan's enemies" be "Illidan's allies" ?

What's the point in pointing out that the broken are a danger to Illidan's enemies :P

The case for Eredar is stronger than for The Broken. They look quite like Archimonde, as you can see in Blizzards April fool's day pics of the wisps.

Someone's claiming this is the backstory from PCGamer. Explains the night elf features as well.

Quote:
As the thunderous steps of Archimonde's army approached the summit of Mount Hyjal, all hope seemed lost. The camps of Jaina Proudmoore and the Warchief Thrall were overrun, and the forces of Archdruid Malfurian Stormrage were fighting for their life.

Then, the moment feared by all those fighting for the fate of Azeroth arrived. The Night Elf army was overrun, and the great Eredar warlock, destroyer of countless worlds, arrogantly marched to the World Tree. With flames surging in his eyes, he grasped the trunk with one vile claw... and the entire summit was shattered in a burst of brilliant, white light.

When the radiance faded, nothing remained of Archimonde but a charred skeleton, resting in the branches of the fatally-damaged Nordrassil. Malfurion, Jaina, and Thrall emerged from hiding; it was all an elaborate trap designed by Malfurion to take advantage of the demon's arrogance. In his lust for the World Tree's power, he did not notice the gathering flock of wisps take their positions around him and detonate themselves in a torrent of nature's fury.

With their commander gone, the remainder of the Burning Legion's army was cast into disarray. Malfurion and his companions escaped from the summit of Mount Hyjal, and the remaining Night Elves silently reflected upon the sacrifices of their Wisp companions.

Yet, the spirits of the Wisps lived on. Floating invisibly throughout Mount Hyjal and nearby Felwood, they began to slowly intertwine with the demons that had taken up residence there. Almost imperceptively their presence began to twist the forms and minds of the local Satyrs and other foul, demonic creatures.

Now, a handful of these creatures have been transformed in mind and body; they have the thoughts of the Night Elf spirits coarsing through their veins, yet their bodies mutated to take the form of the last creature the Wisps had made contact with -- the Eredar warlock, Archimonde.

Ashamed of their foul appearance, these creatures took into hiding beneath the roots of the shattered World Tree, Nordrassil. Despite their attempts to hide themselves from the outside world, they found themselves under constant seige from the demons who came to view them as abominations.

Now, with their very existance threatened, these Eredar -- demon in form, Night Elf in mind -- have made an impassioned plea to join the Alliance.

I like the way that CoV looks, bar the really barren appearance. It's almost like someone built a city, but forgot to invite people to come live there.

That shot was from the highest part I could reach in the zone, so pretty damn high, also in an industrial area.

The game itself has plenty of NPC's etc on the ground, but yeah the cities are hardly bustling. It'd be cool if there was one sort of like Tokyo or similar. You can't kill a generic citizen either (wtf) which is another mild niggle for me.

And yeah with a decent video card/cpu the game is very pretty.

There is Just wait.
The reason it's so desolate is because all the major guilds are on the test server playing with new builds, and if you play the hero side the npc is plentyfull.. with other npc's mugging each other (and you of course being able to bitch slap those muggers) and the mugged npc's coming back to thank you etc..

But, no one wants to live in a villain area, and the lowbie cities in CoV are just that.. recluse has taken over most of those cities.. everyone has been run out, St. Martial is about the only fully npc populated city. I like it like that.. nonfactor npc's = more lag.

I like the villain side NPC's, with the police holding up some crims, so you kill the police, then the crims go for you.

I also had fun kiting boss NPC's into other factions and watching them go at it.

Haha yeah, the scrapyard ghost with it's zerg of minor minions behind it is classic to watch, there's so many minors with it.. gotta love it.

This isn't a screenshot - Just a video of the new end game I7 SF Mission (A chain of missions with stupidly hard bosses that needs 100% teamwork, or wipe. Rewards with big big enhancements.)
