Its generic dub-techno modelled on Maurizio/R&S or whatever, but with a bit more variation to make up for the less stellar production

Damn fine work. IM(non expert)O this is professional quality stuff.

The other stuff here is great too - don't get me wrong, I liked it, funny as anything, but it hasn't got ... "it" for lack of a better term.

I'm not near the standard that any of you lot have shown here, though I know a few *cough*plaz*cough* who could put out something like this if they wanted.

58 minutes of au-d-io (or 52 for the NZG tracks only) - we've almost got a full CD here! Very cool!

Well, Crocos, if you want to record a tracklist based on the criterion of your idea of professionalism, I guess that's your prerogative.

Still, I'd hate to think that everyone's going to eschew songs like 10 accounts, this thread sucks, i love you nzgames, and talkin' nzgames for the sheer reason that we don't have the world's best sound quality. As far as humour, thematics, non-automation and structure go, these tracks eclipse all others.

If there's ever going to be an 'official' tracklist, I hope things other than whether or not the songs have 'it' are taken into account.

Sorry if I got your back up man - I've certainly heard far worse commercial music then (taking your example)10 Accounts. I was referring more that the music listed could be taken out of context of the forum and still enjoyed and related to by joe bloggs public, with that "recording company" feel (like smooth, well balanced vocals, no clicks/pops/non resonant echos, clear instruments, crap like that)

Imagine for just one second that you use internet for email, with maybe a big of basic research, and you're NOT a gamer, you don't post on forums, you don't understand the NZG references. Now you'd likely pick up the tune as being "10 Guitars", but that'd be it

I enjoyed it - I know and understand the references. Joe Bloggs Public wouldn't know what to do with it. That was my point. If you though I was saying it's crap, you misunderstood me - heck you liked it enough to post it, so you can't be ashamed of it, and I like it too - I just don't think Random Member of Public would.

There are two ways people generally relate to music that I have seen: thematically (along the like of subject & words) and structurally (the "ignore the words and listen to the music" level if you will). People tend to like best anything that they can relate to on both levels. I like all of the pieces here on the thematic level, but the ones I've listed above I personally relate to on the structural level as well.

Britteny Spears: I really dislike her music on the thematic level, although on the structural level it is good, if uninspired. Net result? I can listen to it without going "turn that fucking shit off!", although there are many things I'd rather listen to.

10 Accounts? I really like the thematic side, and find the structural side fairly basic, but familiar (I wonder why...

): Net result is that I enjoy it.

Someone from the general public? Would probably find a dislike of the theme that they don't (and maybe don't want to) understand, and pretty neutral about the familiar structure, for a net result of dislike.

If you disagree, good for you. I like all the stuff here, I just don't think that it'd be popular with the public, who were not the intended audience of this forum anyway, so it's pretty much acedemic if it'd be "popular" with the public or not.

The official track selection is that every song is included.

The important part is carefully putting the songs in an order which makes them work well together. So here is my current play order...
