Man, why do people want to be found on the interweb anyway? Who knows what cuntface might be reading your profile and planning to misuse the information (ie. the employer)? Or am I just a paranoid cunt...?

You can pretty much lock your profile down on facebook. Unless of course your boss is one of your friends they wont be able to see anything on your profile. I dont mind facebook. I have a few friends overseas and its good to see their photos etc.

Yeah I have definitely spent a fair bit of time of facebook, but it has been great catching up with old friends. The apps can get a bit too much (and I have plenty to delete)....not into that whole Vampire Werewolf thing...

nearly all my friends are on facebook. granted, i am in canada so its a bit more popular over here, and people are generally online a bit more than back home id say.
once you get to the stage i am at its a hugely valuable social tool. i can set my status to "im looking for a car, someone help me get a cheap deal" and i got a response within 2hours. awesome. yes you have to be careful of hr managers and the like though. my hr managers girlfriend added me as a friend and never talked to me and i was a bit wierded out by it, cause i talked to her and she never talked back. so i blocked her =D |

if they're friends, they're friends and you already have their email address and are friends with them already... you dont need a group. thats how facebook works. everyone can see each others shit. shrug.

Group != friend. AFAIK, people in a group with you can't see your details if you've locked your profile down to "my friends only".
As others have mentioned, FB has been brilliant for getting in touch with friends I lost contact with over 11 years ago. I've caught up with heaps of people, and its been a real buzz seeing what they look like now, what they've been up to, and comparing life experiences. Its also bloody handy for uploading travel pics etc for all my friends and family back in NZ to check out, without having to email them all over the place. I'm able to supply a link that even people who aren't signed up with FB can use to check out pics I've uploaded You can set notification levels, so that you don't get any email notifications at all, or only get a certain level of them (eg, I only get notified of people requesting to add me to their friends list, none of the spam for application rubbish). I don't add any applications beyond the couple I have, as I prefer my own page to load in under an hour :P |

Last night I caught up with a friend I haven't seen for around 25 years. She's mates with a friend of mine and is on his FB friends list, or I wouldn't never have found her. Very cool

Yeah, except to get them to join they whored the site. People didn't used to like it because it was boring... you onlu had limted things you could change .... that was the way I liked it. I don't want to be a Zombie Werewolf or a pirate ninja. In the end that will be facebooks downfall and everyone will move off to the next site as they did from myspace to facebook.
