That's probably just a bunch of easy to digest sound bites.
My guess is I start demonstrating the work the government is doing, like the building reforms that are ongoing, and Ab starts diddling with definitions, escalating demands of evidence, that kind of stuff. You know, the usual arguing for the sake of reinforcing one's own perspective, rather than attempting to grow deeper knowledge.

National achieved fucking up ACC's Sensitive Claims service. No one cared about that.

*sigh*
Maybe you'll recall plans for a knowledge economy. Raise an educated, robust, intelligent population, working in high value industries. Maybe you'll recall National getting in and saying "fuck all that, lets go dairy and tourism", scrapping the kinds of things that go towards building an intelligent work force (from early childhood education through to post graduate study.) Using migration to prop up our economy in lieu of a high value work force. If you DID happen to get a good education, well, plenty of good jobs overseas. I didn't, I always have to look up how to spell "lieu". Or is your memory wiped each election?

“Knowledge economy” was a campaign slogan. No policy ever actually got implemented.

What was Labour's research & development fund about? Didn't that amount to hundreds of millions of dollars?
Regardless, it was National that turned us away from high value to low value industry. National continued, with no adequate regard for worsening consequences, to prop up the economy with migration. By supporting low value industries and by making changes that made getting a quality, high level education for all New Zealanders more difficult. I specifically recall National cutting improved standards in early childhood centres and cutting the student allowance for post graduate students.

It'd be pretty awkward right, the two parties under investigation for improperly receiving donations working together.

Yeah, National is way below the moral high ground.
Also another three high profile mps ditching National. Quote:

I'm suspicious that National are working an angle, consciously or otherwise.
Like pip Bridges just before the election with someone more relatable, the contrast working in the new leader's favour. If not to win the election, then to boost their support. Or maybe it's just the bias against opposition leadership playing out as it normally does.

Bridges already written off by media. A bit unfair on the process.

That guy seems gross too. He'd appeal the National's conservative base, but won't win back much other support. Nikki all the Kayes probably wouldn't make PM, but I think she'd shore up support for now.
