Doctors Never Laugh
CCS went to a doctor eating a pie and asked him if he ever laughed at a patient. The Doctor replied 'Of course I won't laugh, I'm a professional. In over twenty years I've never laughed at a patient.' 'Okay then,' CCS said, and proceeded to drop his trousers, revealing the tiniest 'whoo-ha' the doctor had ever seen. It couldn't have been bigger than the size of a AAA battery. Unable to control himself, the doctor started giggling, then fell laughing to the floor. Ten minutes later he was able to struggle to his feet and regain his composure. 'I'm so sorry,' said the doctor. 'I really am. I don't know what came over me. On my honor as a doctor and a gentleman, I promise it won't happen again. Now, what seems to be the problem?' 'It's swollen,' CCS replied. |

Nuggets were more expensive, but much nicer. $1 pies were hangover food. Can't imagine lining up for one now, i doubt they would taste the same

I think ages ago it used to be unlimited, but the masses decreed the site would be more entertaining if people who self-owned couldn't go back to destroy the evidence.

Back to Georgie Pie - as has been pointed out, Jesters are some pretty good healthy pies. If some guy has bought the GP rights, then hopefully he isn't planning on starting a chain of fast food pie shops in the tradition of McDonalds. It simply won't work in this day and age. You'd be better of opening a single shop to start with, under the George Pie brand, with a bunch of healthy pies and perhaps also some not-so-healthy-but-tasty gourmet style pies, in a Jesters style shop. The whole GP trademark is really no more than a gimmick in this day and age, but since it seems to have a certain loyalty and nostalgia value built into it, it'd be worthwhile leveraging that to kickstart a George Pie reinvention.

I used to buy GP out of necessity as a poor student ($1 a pie is solid value), but IMO they were pretty average in terms of taste. The steak and cheese ones would sometimes be entirely full of jelly. I was amused by the vast GP mothership at Glenfield that was usually completely empty.

I read the Liz Shaw one, well most of it, was very depressing. Such a feral beast. You don't want to read and look but the sheer grossness of it draws you in.

tv3 news said that the georgie pie thing was a branding project to see how people are so attched to a brand.
jesters are great pies, a but expensive, sort of like burger fuel are for burgers
