Highlight includes making my own bass nut from a graphics card edge protector and a soldering iron!

It's actually less noisy than my China bass - it could be the aftermarket pickups themselves, or the fact I twisted the pickup wires around each other before they get soldered to the control knobs. After leaving it under tension, the neck seems to be a bit better than it was last night, and the fret rattles have gone away! I'm very pleased with the result.

Company's asking for voluntary salary reductions, and in the same breath saying those that don't volunteer will have their roles disestablished through restructure. That sounds not quite legal. Any armchair employment lawyers want to chip in?

Also if they have actually said that, diarise it carefully and get an ACTUAL employment lawyer only if they put your job on the block.

Agreed, keep every communication with them and notes of any verbal conversations (you could ask for it to written in email from them).

One of my friends working for a Travel company was told some things around the allowance which I believe were not lawful, but he didn't want to rock the boat because he may lose his job.

While it's hard because Im not in the situation, the company can't be unlawful, and can't threaten their job to do something.

Even if you do what is asked now and take it to an employment lawyer after.

My Son borrowed my old Lenovo X200 for his school study during lock down. It performed perfectly and I was super surprised at how well it ran some freebie 3D games he managed to get onto it. It’s running the current version of Windows 10. SSD installed of course.

This got me thinking. That laptop is from 2008 so 12 years old. How long before we see mobile phones that last that long and are still running a current OS with updates? I mean the iPhone 3G was released back in 2008 ffs. Other popular phones of the time were Nokia phones running Symbian and Blackberries.

Hey old timers... gonna get serious on all you guys for a minute. I just commemorated the one year anniversary of my fathers passing. He died after fighting prostate cancer for 17 years, some good, some bad. What it has reminded me - is that we're all gettin old

I can remember most of y'all faces from back in the day - but haven't seen most of you in a very long time. But - regardless of that fact, i'd hate to lose any of you to an early grave.

I'm 43 now, and i know some of you are even older. It's an ugly truth that we all have to face some day. If you haven't done anything about it. Schedule ya man checks. I promise you, prostate cancer is an ugly way to go.

I tend to take someone to "those" meetings. Never mind for the support, but just as a second set of eyes and ears to listen for any crap, or watch for any traps that may be lurking. Also, memory is fallible. Two memories are better than one. Heck if it IS that bad. Ask if you can record the whole meeting maybe?
