Well this makes a nice contrast to all my bitching and whining over in the gear grind thread:

Today I went to Farmers (last day of their Labour weekend sale, so probably the last sale before Christmas) and bought my nephew's birthday and Christmas presents, and the Christmas presents for my two other nephews. 20% off toys, oh yeah. No idea what I'm going to get for the adults (if anything at all, there doesn't seem to be a protocol with Acid's family) but I'm still stoked that at least the kids are all taken care of.

Haven't had time to plan one yet because we've both left work to go back to uni and have exams from next Monday but we're thinking of Monkey Mia in WA: http://www.monkeymia.com.au/site/ or this cheap but fancy pants place in Bali which is pretty secluded and practice making babies

According to your profile you're only 25. Good luck and all that optimism talk, but that premise + dual students makes me go *gasp*.

Buckies, only being a student for one semester. I was a contractor and couldn't get my shizz renewed, so I'd rather chip away at my degree and live like a monk as opposed to taking a 30% pay cut for my next job.

fwiw since I didn't know what a suspended sentence was

A suspended sentence is a legal construct. Unless a minimum punishment is prescribed by law, the court has the power to suspend the passing of sentence (generally for a period of three years) and place the offender on probation. It is the passing of the sentence, not the sentence itself, that is being suspended. This means that if the defendant is convicted of another offence during the period when the passing of sentence had been suspended, then the offender may be sentenced for the original offence.

ie. the court gives you a 2 year credit but next time you top up you have to pay the 2 years back.

My kid turned 2 today. I can't believe I have a 2 year old. We had an awesome day - went to Lindale, fed and cuddled lots of animals, and seeing this kid have no fear around anything furry just makes me so proud. Heck, most kids get nervous when having a calf/lamb/pig/alpaca eat out of their hand, but this kid is happy to just shove her hand into their mouths. Hrm, so I guess it also OMG that my kid didn't lose a finger/hand today.

Oils my gears to be a McKenzie friend for a relative who is significantly older than I am. The fact they trust my opinion and judgment despite the disagreements we have had in the past gives me hope that maybe they listen to the things I say after all :P

Big call, although I'd agree that it's probably better than some restaurants. Blow torch is essential though. Without it, homemade brulee is doomed to failure.

I went to Mexicali in Nuffield st tonight with a bunch of my mates, including one of my good mates from London.
Ordered some seriously meaty burrito's and drank some dirty Mexican beer to wash it down.

Passed my minor geek test; had to google for freeware, x64, .vcd mounting program, then install an oldish game off two images, then find the latest MSXML file (whatever that does) so I could be greeted by a non-widescreen game resolution, for which I managed to find a shortcut hack for. Now I tried it, and it works fine. Awesome.
