Also, got the most sleep last night that I've had for a long time... that is, without waking up in the afternoon.

Cool artists oil my gears.

Imogen Heap, of FrouFrou fame combined with Twestival to share vocals and individual vocal tracks from a song that never got used.

Lots of interesting submissions from people who used them to put something together:

The unseasonably cold weather + snow in Vancouver is oiling the fuck out of my gears at the moment. Had a foot of fresh snow on sunday night and clear skies all week since, then just saw this on the forecast today!

Skiers will rejoice at this forecast: 50 to 100 cm of fresh snow for the mountains from Friday night to Wednesday.

Boo-fuckin-yah!

been staying in an 'eco' house (solar powered, rainwater 4 drinking etc) off and on over past coupla weeks. Having a whole beach to myself has been fucking wonderful. Even possibility of being swept out in rips was exhilarating. Discovered I'm not as anti-nature as I thought. Just enjoy it on my own terms - alone, I guess.

Spending part of the afternoon with a friend and her 18 month old son. Most fun I've had in ages, playing and acting like an idiot with the little guy. He even moved in and sat on my lap when I was helping him with a block puzzle on the floor, and gave me a big hug when I left (which according to his mother he has never done with people he doesn't know well, so I was stoked). Gears thoroughly oiled.

lol, i dunno; trees, hills, mountains, sheep is all fine and dandy. Now and then you find a place which is really beautiful but I've always been more taken by human-made beauty e.g. Great Engineering feats, architecture, technology etc.
Get bored with nature. Would rather see the Hadron Collider than Everest if you get my drift.

^ but would you rather have your hand at operating the collider (unpaid) or the experience of climbing up earths highest point?

oiler: http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology/di...in-TiVo-rights hopefully they open up their listings for home boxes

Yeah. Climbing up earth's highest point is pretty arduous and rather dangerous. At least if the LHC goes bad it'll all be over in an instant.

You'll have problems catching a helicopter to the top of everest, since it is well above a helicopters operating ceiling. I know they can get to base camp, or maybe camp 1 but not much above that
