This is the law working as intended. Sure, it does mean sometimes poor people are able to get away with it, in the rare case they get a clever lawyer on the cheap. But we can't have our betters being hamstrung by something petty like the justice system.

It's really interesting the line between this type of protesting and terrorism.
This type of disruptive tack being on the rise.

I mean, yes violence is one line that obviously separates them - but in principle the idea of terrorism is to incite fear in a population in order to meet some kind of goals.

Isn't that the same as this kind of protest - they are wanting to incite fear in a population in order to convey an ideology or message.

This is not the same as having ones voice heard. It hinges on emotional blackmail not just the right to speak and be heard.

They got a gaggle of press ready to record this performance. Check out the guy with the pro camera setup and windscreen on the microphone. Last I checked you aren't allowed cameras / flash photography near millions of dollars worth of art.

And if it is not organised,sanctioned but can no longer be ignored you get gaslit about the reasons people are protesting.

Consider the French protests. They ignored the protests for as long as they could, but now that they can't WaPo, NYT, Reuters will tell you they are angry about "Inflation". Ok, limited hang out. SOME people are in the streets because of inflation. But MANY people are also in the streets because they want France to exit NATO.

Turmoil all across collective West (Northern hemisphere) from what I can tell:
-Canada (honk honk)
-USA (contagious dementia)

-Poland (austerity, 50% business tax up from 19%)

And yes, it's going to take a new batch of populist leaders to break the societal funk. An abundance of issues any populist leader (or controlled populist like Meloni) could exploit for those single-issue voters.
