When I first read this over the weekend, I thought "no way, this is a joke, this couldn't have happened."

Chris Carter has admitted to the media that his apology was just for appearances, and after consultation with Helen Clark, he has decided to ignore Phil Goff's instructions to take some time out and he will be returning to Parliament immediately.
