Guildford out

Correction, "retained in the squad but will play no further part in the World Cup campaign".

GENIOUS.

This is comedy gold!

Why couldn't they just get someone to smack him in training and replace him with Gear.

He probably would have preferred that to having to front up to media. I bet he wishes he was playing for England

Probably because the truth would come out sooner or later, and should we win the cup, that could be seen as breaking the rules and put the win in jeopardy I guess.

Hope he can carry water well.

Close, Booze is a smokescreen...hes not getting in because of the teams rotation policy. Isn't that what it's all about.

Nah, his whole thing is the offloading in the tackle. He needs to be in the centres when he plays. Or shove him on the back of the scrum

Just cause thats one thing he's good at, doesnt mean he cant smash it up the side of the field.

And I'd much prefer he did some 50/50 offloads on the wing, than in the center.

Deffo needs to be in the starting 15 though, but you can't kick Smith or Nonu out at the moment, they are in far too good form.

After a storming performance against Canada, looks like it was all for naught:

Quote:
The news was not so good today for wing Zac Guildford, whose late run for one of the wing positions has been halted by a hamstring injury suffered in training yesterday.

A scan revealed a small tear and Guildford, who scored four tries in his only game of the tournament against Canada, could be sidelined for the remaining All Blacks matches.

Oh yeah - he's got problems. Back when they said he had an alcohol problem before the WC I thought it was the biggest overreaction - I mean 22 yr old drinks alcohol and gets drunk - unpossible! Running around naked smacking people... issues.

Looks like he's the type of guy who can't just stop at a few beers. He's gonna have to give up the booze altogether imo.

People forget how potent alcohol is on guys who've learned that they can get away with absolutely anything if they were drunk while doing it.

At the end of the day, guys like him are basically retards that without a bit of talent in rugby, he would (at best) be pumping gas somewhere or (at worst) be serving a long term of imprisonment.

The naked thing isn't too shocking, considering Trader Jacks is right on the beach and people often get pissed, go for a swim (nuds if you didnt bring your shorts, but ffs, you're in Raro, you should have shorts), then go back to the bar.

But to be there after stacking on your scooter, then have a go at some people, thats some grade A piss head moves there.

Welcome to All Black obscurity.

All Blacks will help Guildford
Quote:
The New Zealand Rugby Union will help Zac Guildford rather than tear up his contract following an alleged naked, drunken incident in a Cook Islands bar, NZRU professional rugby general manager Neil Sorensen says.

Sounds like HR talk for "he's toast, we're just making sure the NZRU has done all that is expected of it as a good employer before showing him the door".
