I thought Georgie Pie existed outside NZ too before I read the Wikipedia link in this thread.

Well I'm really surprised that theres so much love for GP - personally I thought they were pretty average, good price, but the pies were nothing special.
Ate there a couple of times when I was younger (Manners Mall) and that was about enough for me... CCS is right though it's not like fine cuisine... actually it's not even cusine at all - it's fast and nasty food. Pixie

Soo like 7th form year I was with the school choir @ the choral festival. The judging was in the morning/afternoon and the gala performance was @ night.
There was like a 3 gap between the afternoon and evening session and the boarder in the choir where getting hungry as and didn't have any money. So around 5:30ish we got the choir over infront of Manner Mall Georgie Pie and busked for like 45mins. Got about 20-30 bucks which is A METRIC FUCKTON of Georgie Pie goodness for all good times |

Come ON. Do you people honestly think it'd do well overseas? Can you imagine Yanks going for a Mince and Cheese pie? The only pie Americans are interested in is Mom's Apple Pie.
|

True, never really thought about it tbh.
I've had less than 5 pies in my whole life. First one around the age of 18(maybe 19) no pies in london, no pies(meat) in america what about aussie? they're the fattest(most obese per capita) country in the world, surely they're down with pies? |

No one fucking cares where the fast-food outlet came from when they goto one and it stands to reason after being bombarded with KFC, McD's and BK their whole lives in their eyes that it'd be a safe assumption to guess Georgie Pie was from overseas too. |

but did it actually go under?
My impression from that Wiki article is that it just got bought out and the new owners (McDs) decided they didn't want to continue it. |

I only used to eat GP when I was starving having spent all money on piss....It was full of a fucking revolting grey substance that barely passes as meat..
I actually bashed someone in the carpark of the the palmie georgie pie, driving out of the drive through some drunk fuckwit spat on my car and kick the back of it, so I got out and bashed him till he started crying, I stopped let go and he ran off, I was left looking at all the familys looking at the window at me...maybe more of a palmie story rather than a gp story.. |

I only had George Pie once and was disappointed. I think it was in Auckland. I remember it being far too hot and not very tasty. Good riddance.

I wonder how much it would cost to get the Georgie Pie name.
You could by the name, open it up, make sure you had square pies and you would become a trillionaire overnight |
