I may have a problem.

I have NINE cameras:

One Canon 350D
Another 350D converted to IR
Polaroid cameras - no SLR models though:
Polaroid Impulse AF (Sonar autofocus, 600 format)
Polaroid Spectra 1200 (Sonar autofocus, Spectra/Image format)
Polaroid 2000 (Manual Focus, SX-70 format)
A Diana F+ (Medium format & 35mm)
A Canon 500 (35mm)
A Canon 50E (Also 35mm)
And a Nikon F50 (Yet another 35mm camera - up for sale!)

Also a full set of lenses for the Diana, and shitloads of Canon Lenses. Also started collecting Darkroom equipment...

They say the first step is to admit you have a problem... Just as well I don't have a problem then, eh?

I was actually quite impressed with it's minimum focal length - just a little more than the span of my hand, so about 20cm.

Last two I think were long exposures, and sorry if I posted these before. First shot is with a macro lens, other two are with a 24-85mm zoom.

Not that I care a lot about wedding photographers, but wouldn't this be disingenuous to your paying customers? Anyone can take a posed photo of a paid model vs. shooting a real life crisis in unpredictable conditions IMO. If true, this is on a same ethical field as shooting of sedated or dead insects in a studio, and passing it off as macro photography.

Often/usually the core wedding party goes away to get photos done: Posed, directed, controlled lighting, etc. So as long as that photographer has done the shot, it's more a case of "pretty people sell more than real people", rather than being completely disingenuous.

our wedding photographer was so happy with the work he did for us he asked if we minded if he used some of the pics in his portfolio.... One guess as to what colour their dim, misplaced lighting was.

I wouldn't agree. I like it. It's an original idea, coupled with the fact you went out to take photos with a particular theme in mind. That in itself is commendable.

It's HDR. It's a new toy I've been thrashing a bit lately. I brought the rocks on the left down by another 2/3 of a stop on my copy here and it does look nicer.

IMO the HDR is done well, but I'm not sure on whether the rocks are interesting enough to justify them taking up half the image. Have you peformed much sharpening on them?

There was no sharpening applied, I guess the rocks were the most dramatic feature around, since the frozen waterfall was miles away through that 10mm lens.

I do like your street set.

Yeah the rocks are definitely dramatic. Maybe try sharpening them a bit? It might just be my monitor - my eyes were confused at first, I couldn't figure out whether they were rocks or something like a rotting tree. Maybe some sharpening could help bring the lines out more.

Thanks - I attended a weekend street photography course with one of London's pre-eminent street photographers. It was thoroughly enjoyable. I want more prime lenses now.
