I run Civ 4 without issues in Windows 7 64bit.

on a sidenote, download Fall From Heaven 2 and it's added mod Wild Mana. Completely changes up Civ 4 and gives you the best turn based RPG strategy I think you'll find.

The Alt codes don't work on my computer for some reason. Used to use them a bit on other machines but something doesn't allow them on this one.

You can change the keyboard layout to 'International' and then can get all the 'important' accents very easier - it's the same "shortcut" for all vowels and even y sometimes.
é = ' + e (same with á í ó ú ý )
ö = " + o (ä ï ë ö ÿ)
è = `+ e (à ì ò ù - ah, this one doesn't work with y)
ô = ^ + o (â ê î û - no y again)

No idea how to get the Spanish upside-down question mark.
It's a little annoying to have on if you're not using it, but quite useful if you are writing in those European languages a bit.
