Anyway, 360 degree turn from "Pimp-X: NZGAMES Science authority" to "I didn't study science cause I got drunk and fucked chicks" Mission: complete Also - phlogistonite was a reference to your mention of pseudoscience. Phlogiston theory was the prevailing scientific theory in the 18th century - it predates chemistry. It worked in terms of making many predictons; but was still oh so wrong. Burn down the observatory so we never get hit by an asteroid type of stuff. Last edited by _indigo1 : 23rd January 2013 at 17:38. |

LOL, doh.
Ball fumble before tryline cross D: Anyway, OCULUS RIFT I want WIND FEEDBACK. So when I'm going 200k+ in tribes I feel the wind. Also, the inner ear thing (maybe + force feedback) - you better make damn sure your inertial dampeners stay online in *insert space game here* Actually an impact suit would make games interesting - different play style if hits actually hurt! |

I missed the part where I was the science authority. I do know what hyperbole is though.

Damn right you will.
I didn't realise you could actually order them without having joined the kickstarter. I'd have to upgrade my PC... shit, I might actually have to start working five days a week...

Looking good:
Testing the Oculus Rift Development Kit: Team Fortress 2 Virtual Reality From the video it sounds like they've done ~$10m worth of sales since the kick starter. 40k kits in total.

I'm off work for a week starting 15th Apr
Here's hoping mine arrives smack on the 15th > Once I've played with it for a bit, I'm hoping to write a custom driver for games which dont yet (or may never) have Oculus support - effectively creating a huge virtual (although 2D) screen floating in front of the viewer Hmm I wonder what RTS games will feel like that properly have Rift support. Definitely would feel like the hand of god at work! |
