Dilemma solved! PBTech got them in stock, the headset has just arrived today!
First game I'm playing is Elite Dangerous. Then I want to try watch a 3D movie. Maybe Dredd.

With controllers. Altho I've been using my Steam controller so far.
It's very pretty. Been playing Elite Dangerous which is very intense in some parts, but I'm still learning the controls. It is quite sensitive, generally need to reboot and then just use the PC for the one VR app or else the Windows Mixed Reality app seems to have issues. Also had some issues with the sound spontaneously swapping between the headset and desktop speakers mid-use. Haven't dug into that too much yet. Tried plugging the headset straight into USB-C instead of using the USB-A adapter provided, but my machine won't post with that plugged in??

What chipset is your motherboard? AMD or Intel? There are known driver issues with AMD USB-C.
Also the audio thing - there's a setting in the WMR portal to default to headset audio when the portal is running. Generally I switch that off and use ear buds, I don't have any headphones that would fit with the headset on. |
