yeah this is kinda end game really, make it through to the on-campus interview, take a selfie, and try not to sound too stupid

I don't know why it has to take 8 hours though, most interviewers find me to be a likeable, non-career or intelligence -threatening kinda chap within 20mins

Well that was pretty brutal. I think I did OK, who can tell after 8 hours of crapping on about shit.

I think I'd be a good culture fit, but it kinda seems like they are after the very best and brightest minds, which for sure ain't me.

/edit. Oh and the place is fucking AMAAAZING!, especially the Steve Jobs building. Unfortunately Systems are in a shitty building off campus.. so yeah that kinda blows

The trend for releasing games in alpha or "pre-alpha" state, whatever the hell that is. It's not a pre-order, it's not "early access"! You're selling unfinished games!

I mean, I guess when it's for cheap, that's cool. But when they're selling the game for the finished price, that's bollocks.

Poor quality food and food service really sucks, and seems to be the norm. I put it down to a combination of demands for low cost food, combined with a trend of lower skill workers working in food service as low skill jobs are automated and everyone is pushed to do more difficult work.

Getting told by the BNZ support rep the reason why the new payment gateway ssl cert is not working is because we need to change the name of the directory we store the keystore in on our server to match the domain name of their server.

1, they have employed people to be tech support reps who don't understand whatthese things are and know the difference between a directory name and a domain name. *wtf*

2, we have to explain how they are talking nonsense to them.

3, the end customer thinks "they're a bank, they must be competent, it's the software dev at fault here".

4, The gateway has been working fine for two years with the keystore in a directory named the wrong thing according the the rep.

5, Apparently we are writing to an obsolete api, and we should be using a more recent one. But they're not going to turn the old system off and force the customer to pay for us to write to the new api (or move to a less crappy gateway provider).

Every time we have to deal with the BNZ it's the same. I've ranted in this thread many times over the years, they never get any better.
