So, gaming is addictive. Yeah, I know, people joke about it (hell, I used to be in a guild called Addiction) but it's entirely possible that it was purposefully made that way. Which is no joke.

So how come the egg looks so close to burnt on one part, yet raw on the other?

That's how you know the egg was cooked right. White completely cooked, yolk completely runny. Or there abouts.

Yeah, it wasn't perfect, but it was pretty close. I prefer a little runny white to cooked yolk.

There's a layer of cheese between the pie and egg too. Freakin' delicious.

I'll rephrase.. Bits of the egg white don't look fully cooked, so yeah, mostly solid, but clearly some runny snot-looking bits..

Easy, look at picture of something that looks pretty gross..think of a combination of things you also wouldn't want to eat for dinner.

The egg whites look properly cooked to me. Just sayin'.

Oh it also looks like a bit of a vile dinner, but then, I had spaghetti on toast...

Well on the topic of cooking, I am sick of making lemon meringue pies.. My husband loves them, I don't like them at all. Fortunately for him, he's the type who never puts on weight.. 'cause he's eating them alone.

Nah, nah. Good egg gots to have a bit of burn on it. Just in the runnier part of the white, gets it all crispy-like.

You can buy them from places like Eves pantry, but homemade ones are nicer and so easy to make

We have a lemon tree at home that is right next to where my husband parks his car, so when he gets home he is reminded of the fact I should use the lemons up.. This is the reason I'm constantly bugged into making them...I wish he'd get sick of them already..

1) What's an Eves pantry?

2) Was pretty sure this: "We have a lemon tree at home that is right next to" was going to continue into "our meringue tree" and was about to call bullshit.

Might be time for bed.

Pepsi - do you make the pastry from scratch too? I love lemon meringue pie but I never make them because they're time consuming. The pastry. The curd. The meringue. But the end result is so nom.

Sometimes, but usually it's easier to just buy the pastry.. because yeah, the curd part takes long enough.

I agree with the slain soldier's father that his death would have been in vain if NZ was to withdraw troops now. But what if it was one of the soldiers in pic 8 - are we that liberated that as a nation we would accept our women dying in action? (I'm assuming that they are also involved in similar convoys)

No, no woman in the infantry.

It's sad that one of our men died, but they are soldiers, soldiers in a war zone, they don't carry weaponry to look cool. Being shot at is a hazard and you know the risks when you apply for deployment .

From the easy-to-comment position of being a civilian sitting at a computer sipping coffee miles away from the front lines, my reaction is... if a woman can pass the physical and mental tests as well as a man, why not?

You have a group of people working very closely together, eat, shit sleep, etc.

There is a woman in this group, there will be 3 types of men, one will want to fuck them, one will treat them like their sister, another will just hate the bitch. Causes friction in your group and can cause moral breakdown.
Also, you have the male tendency to naturally 'look after' woman in threatening situations so half your section will be looking over their shoulders rather than doing their job.

Mixed combat units are a no-no, you greatly reduce the fighting capacity of your troop by mixing sexes, I don't know of any army in the world that does.

Pretty sure the IDF is fairly well thought of as far as a security/fighting force goes?
