I was really hoping the fallout from Trump would make sure that politicians couldn't hide the role that money played in politics. For years they've been downplaying it, and now Trump comes along with all the cash he needs, and gets this far on (depending who you ask) his own dime and very little else. Policy? Basic human dignity? Who needs it when you have the cash.

I don't think the Trumps are sufficiently audacious to want or pursue a genuine schism in the US. But Donald's tooling about could provide the fracture someone with some real ambition could exploit.
