Just watched Stargate: Universe. Only seen a couple of SG1 eps and maybe 3 SG:A so not a fan boy. Seems pretty cool. Part Castaways, part ST:Voyager, with a dash of BSG thrown in. I may be wrong but the pilot seemed a lot like the first ep of SG:A... abandoned alien building/vessel, dingy and busted up. banged up personel and a whole lot of "where the fuck are we".

Apart from the Kurt Russell/James Spader Star Gate movie back when~ I've never seen anything Star Gate.

I quite enjoyed the pilot of SGU, will continue to watch!

What's the deal with Sons of Anarchy? I've watched the first 5 eps so far and it seems like a bunch of unlikable bastards doing bastard stuff.
Almost like Sopranos but without the gripping drama and characters who you end up liking for one reason or another.

There's only one character I don't like.

I'm not saying I don't like it. It's ok, I'm just not in love with it like I was with Sopranos and I'm wondering if I haven't seen enough eps yet to get the idea of the show or are the first 5 eps a good indication of what the show is like throughout?

As we speak(err, intronweb text0r) i'm sifting my way through 6 seasons of The Sopranos. I hadn't seen an up until a week or so ago. I'm almost at the end of season 3. This shit is baller.

Sons of Anarchy would be a solid 8/10 imo. The Sopranos is up around 9.5/10

It does get better(as one obviously watches characters/relationships develop) but you may want to bail now if you're comparing it to The Sopranos!

Noooo - I've convinced myself that his life is that tragic. Like the time he hops into bed and Cheryl is keen for a bit, and he says he can't because he just had a tug in the shower. Her look of disdain is priceless. Or the time the newspaper put a typo when he was supposed to do the obituary for the 'Beloved Aunt".

Although they way it is done - loosely scripted and mostly ad lib may contribute to the awkwardness.

What does everyone think of Flash Forward? I think it has some promise, but I'm a little troubled by the Oceanic Airlines billboard I saw in the background in one scene - are they suggesting they want to move things forward as slowly, and explain as little, Lost?

Might be cool though. Gonna give it 3 episodes.

Set out to watch SG:U and realised I never finished the last half of season 5 Atlantis. Wonder if I should grind those out first.. Can't stand any of the leads though and there's not nearly enough Jewel Staite to make it tolerable.
