The only reason you're calling this thread gay is because we're all making fun of newspapers. And we all know how pissy you get when somebody makes fun of newspapers.

Lamest. Story. Ever. Short Description under photos tells a story like her mum selling off her used undies...but nowhere in the article does it mention anything about used underwear. And secondly...I think when (and if) she said it...was meant to be a light-hearted joke. But of course, like all things in the media, there are no tongue-in-cheek remarks... |

I don't know about that. This story is a bit of a waste of space.

According to Dr Mendelsohn ... she hugged him and said, 'I just want to thank you'," said the commission's barrister, Philip Strickland, SC. "He says she then leant down and unzipped his trousers and performed oral sex on him. He says she swallowed his semen and did not spit.

Err... So I don't understand. Was the drink IN the movie? Was it served external to the movie? How was it a promotion? A little bit more explanation would be good.. Who was this 'Kiwi Viewer' who soiled themselves? Sometimes I think the writers for Stuff are 3 guys, a flat, and a dozen... |

I read that as the movie was about a make believe cocktail. But now that I've gone back over it, I'm also confused regarding wether or not this cocktail actually existed, or was used in the movie, or they pretended to use it in the promotion for the movie or... yeah nfi. I'd guess it's more than a dozen.

The drink was neither in nor directly related to the movie (it was just a case of zomg blood EXTREME); it was the promotion, not the movie, that was centred around the drink. To the best of my knowledge, the plan was to serve them as an actual physical drink at the premiere, so I'm not sure what the "make-believe cocktail" bit is about - perhaps it was non-alcoholic? But I know this from the press release and other promotional fluff, not the Stuff article.
For the record, I didn't find the film all that scary; if you know anything about horror films, you'll be able to see the scare shots coming. (Also, too much shaky-cam for my taste, and a pretty weak ending.) Quite a few people at the screening I saw (at the Film Festival) would disagree, though - there were more, and much more noticeable, physical startling reactions than I've seen for any other horror film. |

Not really anything against Stuff. But the story was too good to pass up.
http://www.stuff.co.nz/4676709a11.html It's nice to know that theives, rapists and murderers get more attention in regards to their accomodation than I ever did living in similar, if not worse, conditions in a multitude of flats here in Dunedin. It's good to know that if I want a cheap, dry, quiet place to stay with 3 hot meals a day...I just need to stab the guy working in the desk next to me. Tempting... |
