That was Season 1, Episode 6. I'd say it's always been pretty dark.
I can't be bothered powering up the NAS box with my older seasons on it to check on season 1 of Rick and Morty, but if I remember correctly:
Wasn't it on episode 1 that a high school student got shot by a freeze gun and then when Summer went to talk to him he fell over and shattered into hundreds of pieces?

Killing high school students sins S01E01 would suggest that this program has been pretty dark right from the very start.

Also: I think it was also in the first episode that Rick told Morty to shoot the security staff because they were only 'robots' and when one was shot he was upset that he would never see his wife & child again. It turned out that Rick thinks of all bureaucrats and officials as 'robots'.

I recently started watching Orange is the New Black and I must say "damn there is a lot of lesbianism in that show!". I've found it to be not a bad watch, I'm now up to season 4.

I too only started watching this show after the season 4 had finished.

After the fail that was Iron Fist, I decided to give "Into the Badlands" a try.
The first fight scene in the first 10 minutes was better than all in Iron Fist's.

Better show all around, will continue to watch.

Just finished up The Good Place Season 1, with Kristen Bell and Ted Danson.

Great fun series, and awesome last episode.

For me yeah... I'd give it about a 5/10. But definitely watch it yourself if you're watching the other Marvel Netflix series.
I really didn't think the main actor (Finn Jones aka Loras Tyrell the Flower Knight from GoT) was suitable for the part.
Granted, I'm coming from not knowing the character its based on so I can't say whether he is playing the part close to the comic book or not.
But some of the other actors were great, just IF himself wasn't. I would even go as far to say he was the least suited in the whole show.

Also the fight scenes were lackluster to me, they felt slow and not particularly energetic or exciting to watch (unlike the aforementioned Into The Bad Lands), that and the fact he's suppose to have been coming from 15 years of intense Shaolin Monk or whatever training, yet he seemed to be having trouble beating some normal people. You'd think most people wouldn't be able to touch him.

The show is currently rating the least best out of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage so that should give you some indication of what its like.

But definitely give it a try for yourself mate.

DD is the pick the to the crop imho, at very least the first season. But I'm a sucker for Vincent D'onofrio. The fight scenes are outstanding - the catholic guilt is pretty well done too.

On a D'onofrio related note, if you can find it I highly recommend the film Salute of the Jugger (Blood of Heroes in the US) from the 80's for a good post-apocalyptic sports film (and a really young Joan Chen and Rutger Hauer).

I consider myself chastised. Someone of your obvious good taste would have seen it - consider my commentary simply a way to expose other, less educated individuals who frequent this den of inequity, to the glory that is a Jugger.

/kneels in repentance.

I thought the casting was pretty good overall, but I don't see Ian McShane in my head. I hear him though, I'm going to hear that voice when I read the dialogue again. Thought Technical Boy sucked, he's supposed to be a fat zitty redditor in a trenchcoat not fucking Max Headroom.

I was never a big fan of the book myself (Gaimen just never clicked for me in general) but my partner is a big fan so checked out first episode. It is promising and perhaps the screen adaption will get around my issues with Gaimens writing style). I must say though I kept expecting Wednesday to try and hock off some old bits of furniture, which tells me we've been watching to much Lovejoy in the weekends.

Watched Jessica Jones again. Liked it more the second time. Tennant crushes it as Killgrave, shame he had to die in S1.

I've just starting watching Luke Cage. It's quite slow, but I like it more than Iron Fist already.

Discovery Vs. The Orville

After watching the first three episodes of ST: Discovery... I'm just sad. Star Trek is dead. Discovery could have been an ok show if it didn't have the Star Trek label. I'll probably keep hate watching for a while, in the vain hope that the show runners figure out that Trek is not a grim-dark franchise.

But The Orville is fucking great! I've never been a huge fan of Seth MacFarlane, his stuff is quite hit and miss for me, but I love this show. There are a couple of lines in each episode where the MacFarlane shows through (mostly from the helmsman), but I'm pretty sure that those are there so they can tell The Network that the show is a "comedy". It is funny in places, in that characters are having fun. But it is a comedy in the same way Sports Night was a "comedy".

Discovery feels like a less good BSG. The Orville feels like TNG made 30 years later. (Brannon Braga is involved, Robert Duncan McNeill and Jonathan Frakes direct episodes.)

Discovery is Nemesis, The Orville is Galaxy Quest (but more Treky).

I thought Picard went there a few times. Maybe I'm misremembering. I can't comment on Kirk, it was mostly just surreal the age I was watching it. I mean, right? Maybe it was Tikipunga that was surreal. I digress.

Trying to get into Powerless.

Set in the DCU, about a company that creates high tech kit in a city where superheroes saving the day are a common occurrence.

I'm not sold on it. I was really hoping for a 'Better Off Ted' sort of vibe but it's nowhere near that clever if you ask me.
