This woman is a scumbag - she's been in jail for importing and dealing meth (quite a lucrative business one might add, if you're not a fucking idiot and waste your excessive profits on absolute shit), she owns a police scanner, actively supports her criminal children in their criminal activity, has a partner who supports her criminal involvement, and other associates (one might assume gangs, given the picture being painted), owns or gets possession of weapons and decides to shoot at Police. What part of that should she not take the blame for?

And we're not "compelling poor people to pay for prescriptions". Poor people still get free prescriptions. We're eliminating subsidies for un-poor people to avoid paying a measly $5. Because it all adds up, and free is never free, because the government doesn't have money of its own, it's all taxpayer's money.

I read a Slashdot article about the passing of Vera Molnar at age 99 - someone you likely have not heard of. I hadn't.

Ms. Molnar in fact began to employ the principles of computation in her work years before she gained access to an actual computer. In 1959, she began implementing a concept she called "Machine Imaginaire" -- imaginary machine. This analog approach involved using simple algorithms to guide the placement of lines and shapes for works that she produced by hand, on grid paper. I liked the geometric aspect of her work, although as far as "computer graphics" go, it is very simple (especially compared to today's AI generated news reporters). But the appeal to me was recreating it, in the same way a real artist would copy the style of the great masters.
