Sir Peter said from Melbourne yesterday that he did not know what to say when he heard what Ms Fenton had said about him.

"I honestly don't know what to say, to be fair - and it's not often that I'm lost for words. I don't know what I've done wrong.

"I'm very disappointed and it's just taken the wind out of my sails. I'm absolutely gutted by her comments."
Dear Darien Fenton, on behalf of what I'm guessing is most of New Zealand, please die in a fire.

Quote:
Labour leader Phil Goff said today he did not agree with Ms Fenton's comments about Sir Peter.

"I'm a real Warriors fan. I've been going to their matches for years and have caught up with the Mad Butcher many times. He is a great guy and a great ambassador for rugby league. He is absolutely entitled to express whatever opinion he likes. Go the Warriors against Manly."
Something something sycophants?

“I have been hurt immensely by her, last night I broke down and cried, I just feel stabbed in the back”. Sir Peter then went on to outline all the things he has been doing recently for Christchurch and the huge effort and toll that has taken on him. ” For her to attack me when I am trying my best for this country, well mate, I’m gutted.”

“The worst part in all this is in trying to attack me she has instead attacked 37 hard working, working class franchisees, she is taking the bread from their mouths” he said. “I sold the business 3 and half years ago and she didn’t even get that right”

“I though Labour was for the working class, after this I just don’t know”.

“But the thing that hurts the most is that I feel stabbed in the back. I gave free product and spent all day cooking at David Lange’s funeral, another working class hero, and this is what I get?”

The mad butcher is probably the most respected guy in South Auckland and a labour MP decides to do something moronic like that?

labour is behaving in the manner it has for decades. If anything has change it is only that they are now more faithfully reported upon. In the past I've termed them evil and that's a fair enough label to given them; they seem to manage to re-earn it many times per year through despicable behavior.

Second MP attacks Mad Butcher for ties to Key

Rugby-netball double international Louisa Wall is sticking up for fellow Labour MP Darien Fenton over her attack on the public "bromance" between the Mad Butcher Sir Peter Leitch and Prime Minister John Key.

This week, Ms Fenton called Sir Peter a "sycophant" and said he was "sucking up to John Key big time. I'm never going near him again."

"I choose not to buy stuff from those who support Tories."

She was reacting to Sir Peter's public endorsement of Mr Key and invitation to him to watch the Warriors at tomorrow's NRL grand final.

Late on Thursday, she apologised on Labour's Red Alert blog and called Sir Peter "a top bloke".

Most Labour MPs, including party leader Phil Goff, distanced themselves from Ms Fenton's outburst, calling it unwise.

But Ms Wall, who is back in Parliament for a second stint as a list MP, said the comments were misinterpreted, and she shared the disappointment at Sir Peter's support for Mr Key - despite admiring his work.

What a bunch of spiteful bitches. As we get closer to the election more and more I find myself hoping that Labour gets wiped out. Electorally destroyed. It's the only way that they'll ever have hope of rebuilding into a party that actually has policies and principles.

I watched Goff on breakfast this morning, trying to blame the govt for the supposedly failed clean up of the oil spill, with the subtext of "we'd have done it better". It was like watching a starving dog chained to a fence, struggle to get to a plate of food thats simply too far out of reach.

If I was Labour, I'd wait for the govt to really screw it up before setting upon them.

Really National should take this as an opportunity to make this policy without risk of political fall out? Cause what are people going to do? Turn to Labour who has the same policy?

Or shall we follow our European cousins and wait till we're well and truly screwed before taking austerity measures?

Really, or has one party actually learnt from the mistakes in the past, while the other wants to repeat them.

I noticed that one of the members of the in-studio panel for the TV (yawn) debate the other night was Dr Claire Robinson. Cool, I thought, she's one of the go-to experts in political communications in NZ, has been for years. She's a professor at Massey and her analyses of politics in the media are always insightful.

Apparently 20 years ago she was a public servant in the Ministry of Women's Affairs and spent some time as a Private Secretary to the Minister of Women's Affairs, and because National were in Government in 1991 that happened to be Jenny Shipley.

The only reason I know this (today) is the Labour Party has REVEALED THIS SHOCKING NEWS and is implying that Robinson is a National Party plant designed to fuck I don't know what, and Mallard is bleating about resignations at TVNZ.

Jesus fuck. It's Erin Leigh all over again.

Let this be a lesson to you all: Thou Shalt Not work for the government in any capacity and hold political beliefs of any sort other than blind loyalty to Labour. Because if you do, Labour will try and fuck you. Sooner or later.

To be fair, she spent a good majority of her comments at the debate focussing on personality, not policy - talking about how calm and in control Key looked, vs. how flustered Goff looked. I mean, I wasn't expecting *much* from the debate, but they only barely managed to stop short of commenting on the leaders' proud buttocks and well-trimmed coats of fur.

Still, while I've spent the past few years thinking Goff has the leadership talent of a sack of potatoes, I was mildly impressed by him last night. He missed a few obvious tricks, and (to use the buzzphrase) didn't focus enough on policy, but he called Key out on a host of sneaky wee lies and generally kept his shit together. I thought the media panel's reaction (that Key had it by a long shot) was reasonably biased.

Yeah, it's almost as if she's a communications analyst who specialises in critiquing how effectively a political party campaigns via the media.

You seem to be an idiot, Frio. Robinson is talking about what the producers asked her to talk about. She's not up for election and she hasn't made a promise to the public that she'll focus on policy over personality.

Labour, on the other hand, has made such a promise and Mallard can only slag off Robinson because despite her voting Labour in the past, he's convinced she's some kind of National hack. Hence, focussing on policy, not personality!

Maybe you're too thick to see the Labour's hypocrisy?

Good man.

It's all because Goff has no personality so they really have no other choice.

I'm surprised that nobody wants to have a bukkake over Judith's beautiful face. I like to fantasise about thick lumpy wads of cum dribbling down her expansive round forehead.

Throw Tolley in there and you've got some serious MILFage.
