This picture OMG:

Brendon Small, The Atomic Clock and crew before playing Dethklok live at the 2019 Adult Swim Festival.

The full set has over a quarter million views despite being rubbish sound quality. But then there's a message from Facebones, so that could explain things.

I cannot recommend highly enough music books for kids that let them play along to backing tracks. Even for a simple drum beat playing patterns on a single drum the kids love the effect they get of playing along with a band.

My Son has three such books so far after moving on from his Ukelele, two are "Let's Rock", the other "rockschool".

Not just kids. I love playing piano etc to a backing track, makes things much more interesting, and I learn faster.

Using a TV for playback rather than a computer for this is pretty cool too - I can output the sound to the amp and using a TV remote on a sofa is much easier than a keyboard at a desk. FF/RW/Restart/Repeat are all simple button presses away with no distractions.

Had the lawn hydroseeded a few days before the lockdown. Being 'forced' to work from home meant I could ensure it got the perfect amount of watering with Aucklands changeable autumn weather - and now it's going nuts.

Have any progress pictures? It's an interest area of mine given my dirt back yard at the moment.

Sure,

Before

Prep was:
Rotary hoe the shit out of it (approx 150-200mm)
Added Compost, Blood and Bone, Manure, Gypsum, Top soil, slow release fertizler, then rolled it.

Pre-spray

Dug in my pop up irrigation system (all bunnings sourced Pope Products)

Post-spray

Luckily for me we had 2 days of rain straight afterwards, but when it wasn't raining I had my sprinklers set to keep it wet (but not overly)

and on the 6th day

today (day 8)

there's a bit in the corner I havent done; that's where the trampoline lives, it'll be stone base.

Pretty minor, but I fixed the 'n' key on my keyboard. Bit of dust or something covering the diode - couple of seconds with a cotton bud and its all good. Yay.

My left ctrl button isn't working and I know if I take the back off I can fix it with ease, but there's still 5 months left on the Warranty, and I can't get the sticker off without breaking it

Found a new job! Starting Thursday. Another contract position, lower hourly rate (I know nothing about their business/environment), but 40hrs/week instead of 40hrs/month. I was about to build a garage for all my shit before COVID but put that on hold once I lost my job, so if I can get a garage built before Xmas I'll be happy. Onsite (Whanganui) to begin with, then remote work where possible.

Well done old chap. One of my chaps has picked up contract work, which is a great move for him, pre-empting the outcome of the "consultation period".

Need to build a garage myself. What size are you building? Approx cost if you don't mind sharing?

I got quotes from a few places... was looking around 6x9m, double garage - maybe partitioned to have an office/sleepout. While promotions listed the prices in the ballpark of "from $11k", that's just the kitset delivered - by the time you factor in concreting, drainage, labour, electrical work/certification, consenting etc it was quoted around $25-30k in total (with variations between companies in what that includes). I was also enlightened to 1m stud on the larger/cheaper garages (6x10) vs 600mm stud on the 6x9s or smaller from a different company (making it easier to line with standard gib). Having a sleepout type arrangement can also make a difference for council consents (regional differences apply) and build requirements (something about plumbing maybe? I forget), but can be legally listed as an extra bedroom when selling (rather than just taking a photo with it set up as such, or using it as you please). There are lots of options and the price keeps creeping up!

I think I got quotes from Versatile and Skyline and spoke to another guy/company on the phone from Levin who estimated similar figures. I hadn't decided if I would get something smaller to save on the initial outlay, or whether I'd regret being a tight ass and wishing I had gone bigger once I fill it with stuff. My mate had a 6x9 built and it's a nice size - he did a bit of work himself (he's more manly than I am) and saved a little bit, but it wasn't significantly cheaper. Still around $20kish.

^ nice and sounds near exactly to what I'm after. I want space for a sedan plus work benches on two sides (L shape in a corner) and sleep out option.

Mine will be replacing an existing garage that's right on the fence line with the neighbours, not sure if it will require a firewall

I'm Palmy.
