Should we lay down some town planning guidelines?

How about, no mining under other people's property above level 45 (or whatever's good for where we start)? EG you can tunnel about under that but this way you avoid breaching people's basements.

Don't build within 3 blocks of someone else's structure (including above) without checking with them?

re: keeping close to spawn... I know some people just like to get on with their own project, without interference from others... at the start of the current world, it was all good, but soon I was getting sick of breaking through into other people's tunnels.....

Lol. I'm all for structure but well aware that others might not be. I don't particularly want more vandalism of my stuff 'cos someone has a reason to dislike me. That's why I made my subdivision far away, so people could build there if and only if they wanted to.

We could grade a 300x300 area(?) for initial construction at level 64, then duplicate it at level 95 or so (glass bottom?) for a second level of construction with a transport system between the levels and a level 45 restriction for people's basements.

The 2nd level wouldn't be a height restriction, you could just build through the glass if required, unless there was already a building there...

Yeah they pre-test 1.8 but not 1.8.1, 1.8.2, 1.8.3, 1.8.4 or 1.8.5

Built in the normal cobble but then we can get artistic on the outside?

Or make a gigaaaaaantic creeper (quad-pixel scale) with mob spawner in it, and the drop-target where his arse might be. I'm no expert on creeper biology.

Absolutely. It can be clad with some funky exterior business. The advantage with a drop trap is that it had both quite a small footprint, and is easy to extend vertically as time goes by and resources build up. Perfect for this job.

Okay, this is cool. 2 minutes of roaming around:


Chests open their tops.
Cave systems are awesome.
Torch lighting is super awesome.

I found a mineshaft and a chest which gave me two diamond, some redstone, melon seeds, coal etc.

Just found the blue spiders, lots of them, and lots of cobwebs!

endermen are fricken hard to kill because they teleport as soon as they get near, however they seem to like getting stuck in water. They drop ender pearls.

Running and combat is pretty sweet, but it kinda makes it easy, knocking back creepers etc.

Bow and arrow are overpowered now, if you ask me. Especially shooting from the high ground.

Running is STUPID. It drains the hunger bar and when you're at three bars left, you can no longer run until you eat again. Retarded. Worst addition to the game.

Your running also cancels really easily, like if you hit a wall or block or something.

Animals run away when you hit them now, cute.

New nom nom animation is fun, but will be pretty annoying because you don't get instant health, you have to wait for the animation. Not good when you're being attacked by skeles with arrows.

To offset your hunger bar, meat is stackable and cows can drop as many as three steaks at one time. Would prefer there was no hunger bar at all!

When you run out of hunger completely you lose half a heart every, say 3 - 5 seconds. It's pretty fricken retarded.

Eating doesn't heal you anymore, when your hunger is high enough you will just eventually regen health. This is all very fucking stupid.

Well they definitely start taking damage the second they touch water, so I guess a normal trap would work? If it was made of stuff that they couldn't mess with.

Nothing scheduled I was just going to do it when it comes out. All depends when that is, I guess. Last estimate was Tues (Wed our time?).

Don't see why we can't use that seed.

So assuming I've done it correctly and it doesn't change from pre-release 1.8 to 1.8 beta, this is what the spawn will look like with the nzg seed. The spawn is in the trees in the middle there.

Probably going to need a bit of flattening :P
