I would've thought it would oversensitise (even temporarily) rather than desensitise, and I'm sure if millions of guys live with it every day, it can't be bad, right?

I've never heard of anyone complaining about de-sensitisation after being circumcised. However, you do lose the extra bit of stimulation that occurs from the foreskin rubbing over the penis. So any loss of feeling is really pretty minimal.

If it was a real issue, I doubt it'd be as common as it was up until about 20 years ago.
