BoBF part 2

Loving the brain lizard!

Pity about Newton and his pesky laws of motion - not sure they apply when towing repulsor lift based speeder bikes?

Train scene was better than the one in Solo.

Tree dream sequence (but wasn't) was a bit too Mad Max, but made up for it with a full on Jimmy Diresta desert blacksmithing montage though.

Only after watching one of the Easter egg reviews did I see that the place he broke up was a bar in the refurbished Tosche Station - complete with a modern day Koo Stark look alike as Camie.

I like the part where it's a journey of discovering how the other isn't really so other.

Uhhgggg.

Even the appearance of Danny (no surprise in a cousin Rodriguez effort) could save a Quadrophenia scooter chase from jumping the Rancor.

Turns out Black Krrsantan is no better than your average Scooby Doo villian. He might have got away with it if it wasn't for those meddling kids.

Had super low expectations for Peacemaker (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13146488/) but it's actually pretty funny (in a similar vein to the last Suicide Squad movie).

I'm enjoying seeing how Boba has established his power base.

So far it looks like he's got Pyke money thanks to his Dune-esque relationship with the Tuskens. Now he's building up a local crew with his respect not fear approach.

We'll see how that pays off when the Pykes try to take back control from the Tuskens.

I was looking really closely to see if Gordon Sumner was hidden in there. I mean, he was in Dune too.

After Life S3

I had to rewatch the end scene to confirm the colour changes through the trees, because... powerful.

I guess the timing of the colours implies that after his wife and dog passed, he lived on long into his autumn years.

Also, while the pandemic was mentioned, no masks, and an implication that mental health issues were addressed and possibly due to Covid, more accepted.

Well played Mr Atheist.

Tried watching EP3 yesterday and am really struggling to enjoy BOBF....it feels like it's missing what Star Wars is about...It's basically walking around the desert taking meetings for 3 episodes that isn't really doing it for me.

BoBF ep3 was straight out of Robert Rodriguez's Spy Kids.

Ep4 however was great. Lots of S̶l̶a̶v̶e̶-̶1̶ Firespray action, You-Son-Of-A-Bitch-Im-In crew building, the last of the bacta tank flashbacks, and an ominous ending score hyping up the next episode.

Yes - that summed it up exactly.

Yeah - looks like the last one will be saved by Feloni directing? Only bit that got up my goat was the rat catcher slapstick. But I did laugh at the chef going full Grievous.

I'm really enjoying all the Easter eggs and background throwbacks to the movies and other series. When I first saw Mando's ship, I thought the engines looked like they were from one of the pod racers in Phantom Menace; a friend pointed out the exact ship he's flying is from the Fallen Order game. I was not expecting this to turn into The Book of Mando Fett, and I'm really looking forward to where it goes

BoBF5 spoilers:
Na that's not the fallen order ship, it's just a chromed out Naboo Starfighter from the prequels, with a hot rod engine at the front.

Fallen Order did get a cameo though, in the cute bipedal BD droid that almost got eaten at the shipyard.

So much fan service done so well. The podracing course at Beggar's Canyon. The Darksaber mythology. Vizsla's legacy claiming it. Melting down the spear to make armor for Grogu in a little Yoda ear shaped parcel. Wizard.

That episode was amazingly produced, written, and directed, but that was absolutely The Mandalorian S3E1, and not BoBF. It was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard and written by Jon Favreau too. It just absolutely outclassed any of the BoBF episodes to date, which is a real shame.

The main problem with the RR led episodes is that you expect Desperado but get Spy Kids.

I'm not sure Tem deserves any acting credits for that Mandalorian episode set on a Halo ring.

Yeah, not a fan of the show or anything that Lucasfilm does these days, but that ep felt pretty Star Wars.
