As a car enthusiast I'd just like to say that not everyone who's into cars is getting labelled 'boy racer' here. I'm not sure if I'd call Akane one myself, and I'm not sure how many people have done so, but there are several car-lovers of various flavours in this thread who have not been called boy racer yet.

By the way, for anyone who cares: I'm not criticising putting a car under your parents' names for insurance purposes. Both my cars are under my old man's name for just that reason, at least until I turn 25. What I'm saying here is that Akane clearly thought he could get away with not paying his fines by assuming the cops wouldn't touch the car just because he put it under his mother's name.

Anyway, it's bedtime. Perhaps in the morning we'll have another fine delivery from someone desperately trying to look casual, desperately trying to make sure everyone knows exactly how much he doesn't care about any of this.

No, I never did. I've had some fines for speeding and didn't complain. I was caught red handed and I paid the price. It's that simple. No post to nzgames, no whining to my parents to get them to bail me out.
