Watching Stargate Origins. Why, why, do writers insist on such stupid characters. Since when do people watch scifi for such bumbling about?

Thanks to the kids being fans of Supergirl I've finally dipped my toes into the Arrowverse and just finished Flash S01 with them. Really really enjoyed it. Way more than I expected to. Hope S02/03 continues in a similar tone.

I really want to enjoy Lost In Space. The product values are top notch, the acting believable, and there are some cool story elements.
But it still feels the plot is largely driven by poor decisions. Everyone is supposed to be the best, the most brilliant sent to colonise a new planet. But you're left making excuses for why they've forgotten they're in a hostile environment. It's like the writers can tell you the characters are smart, but they can't show you, except by getting them to recite some science.

Anyone thinking about rewatching Smallville?
Both Allison Mack and Kristin Kreuk are wrapped up in a sex slave cult, and Allison's just been arrested for it. https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainmen...sexcult-leader

Cobra Kai - Karate Kid continuation on Youtube Red. Pretty good. Has several of the original cast. Doesn't do lame nods and winks back to the original for cheap lols. Refers to original only for story purposes. That is how you deal with retro properties.

So there are three Bernard timelines in play this time?
The visit to the lab and trashing of it - but not before pocketing a copy of a sentience (Delos?). The visit to the lab with where Elsie repairs Bernard and find the Delos clone and destroy it. The visit to the lab where Bernard recognises that it is a memory as he tries to stop Elsie opening the door. But was it the same lab as the one he visited with Charlotte? Just as you would expect from a Nolan/Abrams mashup I suppose. |

at least - bernard executing ford's instructions pre-uprising; bernard on the night of, then the day after, the uprising with charlotte then with elsie; bernard or *ARNOLD CLONE* waking on the beach 11 days post-uprising and being escorted around by the special ops team. also, different lab. different lab numbers on the doors. |

S02 has come straight out of the gate with "we're fucking with your heads, nothing you'll see is in chronological order, and the narrator is unreliable" which is a bit disconcerting. With S01 the OMFG TWO TIMELINES device wasn't obvious until more than halfway through the season, and I guess they can't go back now.
I loved every plot thread of S01 in the sense that I was always interested in whatever was being shown. In S02 so far I've found myself uninterested in Maeve and quite frankly in Dolores too. Perhaps that was why I loved E04 so much, they weren't in it. Admittedly the "megarich old white man wants to cheat death" is a tired trope now (hello Prometheus, Dollhouse, Altered Carbon, et al) but the script and direction of all the Delos stuff in S04 was fucking awesome. |

Season 1 felt planned, methodical, and executed brilliantly because the audience wasn't expecting the twists it had.
I'm very concerned that Season 2 will feel like seven seasons of Lost condensed down to 10 episodes.

Interesting parallel with Lost - a WW writer was asked about the scene when Desmond was introduced in the hatch, exercising, playing records and dancing around his confined area - she said she had never seen it.

Westworld S02E05 was a bit meh after last week I thought. Aside from being mostly linear, the SW stuff just felt like the writers were trying to be too clever.

It's all about what happens to Felix and Bernard/Arnold atm. Although I'm anticipating some kind of robot civil war. Perhaps season 3.

I thought it had already been done? I'm wondering if it was a callback to a similar scene in Sweetwater? That song is overplayed in media in general.
