I love Googletopia as much as anyone, but let's face it. A lot of their products in and out of Android have these kinds of UI, navigational flaws. Google Voice is kind of a horror. I don't even like the Gmail interface very much. You learn to live with the shortcomings because, what else are you going to do? Abandon Google?

Wow. I never have disagreed with one of your articles, but wow. I know that for some reason people like to claim they have OCD, but I actually have it and I kinda feel like telling you to get over it in some places. I do agree with you on some points (icons, calc, back button) but others are just petty.

? play store --> my apps .. lists all the apps I have every installed / purchased

Yeah, but you can't tell without going outside of the buying experience. With iOS you can tell on the app's store page - on the device or in iTunes App Store, it clearly hilights that you've already added it to your account, so you won't accidentally get two in your account - or worse, waste your money buying it twice.

Anyhoo, let me just bring up the store ('Play' is a retarded name BTW)...... Even in the search screen it tells me that I can update or install the app, same on the app's page.

You cannot buy an app twice on the Android store, not sure where you got that idea from.

Once you've paid for it, it's your's to install on any devices you're google account is associated with.

You can't pay twice, even the web interface shows the option to install (ie.. select the device)?!

the headphone jack on the bottom sucks as the phone will be orientated differently in my pocket, which means it will be harder to reach the volume controls on the side without removing said timPhone from said pocket

panorama mode should be dope though for when i'm on holiday, or the few times p01s0n leaves the house each year

I am not sure where you are looking but it's impossiable to purcahse an app twice. ..the purcahse is bound to your google account, you can install it on any device you login on.

I'm happy about the following things on the IP5:
-LTE
-headphone jack on the bottom
-faster user experience (*GASP*, yes, I do care that it has a faster CPU, because I'm sure that things like Navigon which are very heavy apps will be a lot smoother)

Then again I notice nobody really cares about LTE in this forum cos you don't have it in NZ ;-) (yes, that is a troll).

Seriously though, LTE is pretty cool, it's not the bandwidth that's the main thing with it but rather the latency - the radio hop + backhaul + gateways should be under 30 ms imo. The radio hop itself is supposed to be <5ms according to 3gpp.

I dunno about you guys but I hate noticing the sluggish data setup and TCP slowness shite on 3G which you do notice when using internet apps (even the stock ticker on the iphone is slow to update). Even with HSPA+ this part still sucks.
