So... If anyone wants a Minecraft Realms invite, I've started a realm for $reasons such as: Kids on servers, random crazies with Op powers on other servers, other servers again with no crazies or kids, but server keeps dying...

So yeah - because I'm a grumpy old man

Also: Currently looking at different seeds - post if you've got some seed suggestions too.

No "will be" - it's already green-fields. I've played the most, but only put about 4 hours in to date on a fresh map.

I've added rinceynz. Just launch MC (1.7.10 is the version you want) click "Minecraft Realms", then click on the envelope-looking thing at the top of the screen to see the pending invite.

Because it's realms, I can only have 20 people at max on the whitelist, and only 10 of them simultaneously.

holy shit - my first game in $LongTime
Died twice - once from a zombie - middle of the day, thought I'd be safe, but the prick spawned under some trees. Second time I starved to death - couldn't remember what or how to eat... crocos came to my rescue with some steak though

I can only remember a very handful of recipes - took me ages to remember the basic tools.

What mods are must haves these days?

Curses: Added. No plug-ins, pure Vanilla. Basically you can't do (server side) plug-ins in Realms, as far as I'm aware.

Pxpx: Added.

Oh yeah, I've also added a Book Of Teleport - take a look in the half-arsed start of a tower, currently only links to Spawn.

Realms doesn't have a /spawn or /bed, so I command-blocked a work-around

BTW for those concerned: The only thing I'll be using creative for is communal infrastructure projects - and currently the only one of those I've got planned is the teleport infrastructure.

It only took me [WAY TOO LONG] but I've finally purchased Minecraft. I'm going to acclimatise for a few weeks, and then I'd love some tips and nice world invites, if anyone cares to share the love.

Sure - post up your username when you're ready, I can whitelist you on Orcon as well as do a Realms invite. I recommend learning on a multiplayer server - folks give you hints, tips, etc
