I cashed out when I had bills to pay last year and I hate it. I’m in a better place now and even with last week’s dip I’m still comfortable. Even if ETH goes to zero the property market will keep me afloat.

So, uh, USDC appears to have just printed about 5 billion units. That is by far the largest stablecoin print ever. Something very fishy going on.

Yep, that's probably what Ray Dalio will do with his Bitcoin.

Watched the coindesk snippet with Ray Dalio. If he is right about the bond market and bitcoin being an existential risk, then it won't end nicely for bitcoin holders.

Extremely late to the party, but I have finally mined my first crypto.
Got myself a whole "$1.60" over night. I am making the assumption that if ETH went to POS, then there will be some alternatives coin to mine. |

https://hiddenforces.io/podcasts/ult...hil-shamapant/
In Episode 191 of Hidden Forces, Demetri Kofinas speaks with Nikhil Shamapant, the author of a recently published and widely circulated 79-page report that sets an ambitious 18-month price target on Ethereum of $150,000 per ETH—more than 30x the current level. Nikhil believes this will be driven primarily by two upcoming changes to the underlying Ethereum protocol which will reduce the supply of ETH by the equivalent of roughly three Bitcoin halving cycles. The changes are scheduled to take place in two phases beginning with the adoption of EIP-1559 in mid-July of this year and culminating with the formal transition to proof-of-stake in late 2021, turning Ethereum into the preferred savings vehicle in crypto, according to Nikhil.

LavaCake is getting a lot of attention with some 'too good to be true' returns for early adopters.

China wants to impose its own vision of a digital yuan on the Chinese crypto ecosystem and it doesn’t give a fuck about your portfolio.

Well this is going to be fun seeing how this plays out.
At least certain aspects of the crypto system are the antithesis to authoritarian control of information. It makes sense authoritarian regimes would want to maintain their own solutions. The ideal, however realistic it is, is that reliable information allows for robust decision making. Robust decision resulting in better outcomes. Ultimately facilitating increased economic activity as risks are reduced. The question will be, how will China respond when it sees others with an advantage it lacks?

The digital yuan is a wet dream for the CCP and it'll do anything to make it happen.
1. Separate from the global economy. TOTALLY centralised. Fuck the USD. 2. Expiry dates on the tokens. As in, yes you may have 100 coins in your wallet, but they vanish on the last day of the month. The CCP will be able to ban saving. How's that for control of the economy. 3. Automation of fines. Step out on to the road before the walk signal flashes? Camera snap, facial ID, antisocial behaviour gets logged against your citizen profile, tokens get deducted from your account. |
