What's even more stupid is that the photo he posted was sourced from Russian disinfo.
https://www.stopfake.org/en/photofak...-near-kharkiv/ The photographs circulated by Russian media for the last month really do show Ukrainian military equipment that was damaged during Russia’s military operations against Ukraine. However, the images do not show a HIMARS missile system, but rather an ordinary Oshkosh M1083A1P2 medium tactical vehicle military truck and an M777 howitzer. |

I understand critical thinking is difficult for you, but look at the front of an M1083A1P2 and the front of a HIMARS and compare the central bolt positioning.
Then kindly fuck off. |

What does that even mean? Impose fines? Confiscate/steal property belonging to Russian citizens? They'll attack Russia as revenge? They'll impose [more] sanctions?
Will the USA be held to account for all its war crimes too, or is there one standard for Putin and no standards for the USA?

I don't know, did she commit war crimes?
I guess my question is "should all countries that commit war crimes be held to account?" Then it is phrased in a way that doesn't trigger your automatic dismissal of the point. I'm not saying Russia shouldn't be held to account for war crimes - I'm just saying that if war crimes are a thing, then ALL war crimes should have repercussions. Obviously THESE war crimes are definitely worse, because Putin.

The CIA is using a European NATO ally’s spy service to conduct a covert sabotage campaign inside Russia under the agency’s direction, according to former U.S. intelligence and military officials.

It's a good step forward that Western countries are finally sending some modern tanks. Maintaining multiple different systems is going to be a huge challenge though - Leopard 2s, Challenger 2s, and Abrams are all completely different systems needing specialised crew and engineers. Abrams in particular have a complicated jet engine and are enormous gas guzzlers, requiring fleets of fuel trucks following behind them.
What would be a real game-changer is sending some modern fighters and ground attack aircraft. Without air superiority it's going to be hard to win. |

Yep, I didn't think I'd see MBT's being used in 2023 given how easily aircraft can take them out. I understand that you can't just jump cockpits and expect Ukraine pilots to be immediately combat ready, but flick them an F-16 or two and see Russian morale drop even further. But that's me as an armchair general.

A big advantage Ukraine has that I assume is being taken advantage of is logistics. And it's not something Russia can mitigate or match.
They're only going to get more effective at getting equipment and expertise where it needs to be as Western militaries help Ukraine institute contemporary practices. There's no way Russia will pull itself into shape. That's Putin's paradox, he can't empower Russian institutions without putting his own power base at risk.

Olympics row deepens as 35 countries demand ban for Russia and Belarus
The Olympics is ageing out as an institution. Nationalistic dick-swinging made sense 100 years ago, but now exceptionalism is kinda cringe. We've got YouTube now, people know the history of any powerful country comes off the back of annihilation and domination.
