Thumbs down

Stumbled across some old photos today (curse you, facebook!) from 1996. In them appear such NZGames icons as Pimp-X, CCS (gasp!), Bolix, a bunch of extreme nerds and me ...

They were perfectly good repressed memories. Let the convulsions begin! :-/

so if the petrol per litre is $2.12 a litre - average kiwis must be putting in around $600 - 1000 per month depending on the size of the car/suv. Are many people noticing cars off the road?

Where i live I dont think i could ever imagine people stopping driving. Mind you its only $1.30 here.

Once again, stuff gets the basics wrong.

Apparantly Robbie lying on a sun lounger and seeing an object is the third kind of encounter...

A couple of years back, I budgeted for $60 per fortnight per vehicle - and I had money left over. Now it's more like $100 per fortnight. It sucks.

Now that I'm getting this thirsty hatchback I'm really hanging out for the Oil companies to strike gold off Bluff, and give some of the lovin' back to NZ.

Just not the station near Hannibal's house (where is he - did the 802.11g to the bunker get knocked out?) because it's full of microdots.

He's probably already tapped into it anyway. I suspect he has an underground tank (or several) of his own so that he is Ready when The Time comes.

hell no. being silly enough to visit the wrong side of town from home just after 5pm on a week day and having to make right hand turns onto busy streets quickly demonstrates how much people need their cars

$1000 dollars per month? We spend around $400 on two cars.

In the past month or two I have certainly noticed less cars on the north-western motorway when coming back home. After 5:00pm it usually used to be a parking lot or really slow going from city to Gt North road. Now I can drive at a reasonable speed with very few slow downs in between.

He was asking (literally) to be banned in the admin-feedback forum a while back as he was spending too much time on this forum, whereupon we laughed and said you're doomed to stay FOREVAR, and then that's pretty much the last I heard of him.

Well, sometimes that which is dirty can use a wash. That said, I'm a sceptic of the benefits.

Well i was meaning a family with two cars being a small car and a suv type thing to fit the kids in.

My parents have a diesel (now) and an rx8. The rx8 burns through petrol like theres no tomorrow. I dont even want to think about how much 98 costs at the moment.

I've recently started driving to work again (72km round trip) and I've noticed that there's been a reduction in cars on the road, most notably the drive home to Upper Hutt is significantly better, even with the road works around Petone and Korokoro.

I did take the train a week or so ago and holy shit they need an upgrade. There's been a huge influx of people onto the trains and at rush hour the trains heading into town are overflowing before they hit Waterloo.

Getting good gas mileage from my older Honda (5.9l/100km), at this stage it's been worth it for the extra time I get to spend with my kids each night.
